Chapter 1 - Prologue (1) - The Bloody Ritual To Be Reborn

The moon hung in the sky bright red, like a white cloth dipped in blood. Its light cast down upon the Colosseum.

It was a huge arena with massive pillars at every edge of the magnificent building.

The massive walls loomed over me. As I craned my neck to analyze my surroundings.

I saw a crowd of people filling the seating tiers, most of them standing, their voices merging into a chant.

Calling out a strange name at me with excitement in a language I knew but quietly didn't remember.

Where the heck am I ??

I thought...

Suddenly, a man appeared, standing high in the elevated corridor of the Colosseum, a section likely reserved for the elite.

Victory to my son!!!!

He shouted his voice echoing in the arena

The crowd erupted, shouting, and their noises went insanely louder.

What s-son ??

Did he mean am is Son...

Finally, my memories flooded back like a sledgehammer to the skull.

I held my head in pain as my eyes widen

in shock.

I..... I remember everything now

I remember everything.

Am part of the chosen Archdevils who were summoned here to fight in a tournament, and the winner of this unholy contest will be reborn to the mortal realm.

And that man is my father, Akaresh, Lord of the underworld and the supreme ruler of the Darkness.

Akaresh raised his right hand, signaling the crowd to silence.

With a voice that boomed across the arena and reverberated back, he began his speech.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is chained, a slave for eternity, unable to break the seal from the underworld.' But we know the truth, don't we?

We are the ones who have been hiding in plain sight, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And now, that moment is upon us.

I ask you, my dear brethren, what is it that we truly desire? Is it power? , Is it revenge? Or is it something more?

Do we seek to overthrow the gods simply to take their place, or do we seek to create a new world, free from the shackles of oppression?

Are we fighting for freedom, or are we fighting for the sake of chaos itself?

The answer, much like our true nature, remains hidden in mystery. But one thing is for certain: we will not be silenced. We will not be in the chains of oppression for Eternity.

Tch. The Gods think they will reign supreme forever. But let me tell you when we break the seal.

We will tear down their thrones and drown the heavens in their blood. We will rewrite history , dark sayings and legends!!!

We will be the ones to decide who is worthy, who is worthy of worship, and who will be cast into the abyss!!!!

Our time is not tomorrow, it's not the next century, it's NOW! We will not be held back by their will, we will not be tamed by the whispers of doubt!

Let it start from here. Our future is here, right now not tomorrow.!!!!!!!!

The crowd erupted into a frenzy of cheers, their chants echoing through the Colosseum.

Akaresh heart began to beat in an insane rhythm, nothing he had ever felt before.

His lips curled into what might have been a smile on a terrifying face. As he raised his hands, his eyes blaze red with anger, pride, and superiority he whispered-

Let the Apocalypse begin....

But then, I felt a slight headache on my forehead. I touched it gently and rubbed it, but the pain started to increase intensely.

My hand grew clammy, and when I looked down, it was stained with blood.

As I tried to clear my vision by rubbing my eyes, the world around me remained a hazy blur, the colors bleeding into one another.

I felt myself losing consciousness, and my body collapsed to the ground like a tree cut down from its roots.

What I saw on the floor terrified me - it sent chills down my spine. I blinked my eyes to make sure what I was seeing, but it was still the same.

What I was seeing was... it was... it was a mountain of bloody corpses formed like an island, surrounded by an ocean of blood.

My eyes closed gently, unable to bear the awful sight I was seeing...

----

The next moment I recall, a light pierced through my eyes, gently coaxing them open.

Before I stood my father, Akaresh, and the other Rulers of darkness, I knew them. They also draped in a black cloak, its darkness radiating in a high intensity.

I tried to move my arms, but they were locked in place, as were my legs. I tried to talk, but it seemed my words were stuck in my throat.

What the hell is happening? Is this how the Renacia, the ritual to be reborn, performed?

My father, holding the fire torch, passed his hand through my hair, his touch eerily gentle like calming a scared horse.

As his hands passed through my hair, I felt something -

A surge of hatred and resentment towards my father. It was a feeling I couldn't quite put into words.

A father who never loved his son.

A father who's willing to kill his son for his selfish ambition. His desire for power and control.

He added me to the tournament thinking I was weak, just an SS Rank Devil, and I couldn't even last a second in that battle with the Arch-Devils who were SSS+ Rank.

So it will be an excuse to everyone that I died due to my weakness, a worthless prince sacrificed for the greater good of his dark empire plans.

But what he didn't realize was that I had discovered his true intentions, and I had been playing along, pretending to be the weakling he thought I was-

And when am reborn into the mortal realm

With that, and I mean with that, you will know what will happen next.--

I'm proud of you, my son. You've proven yourself worthy among your brothers, and because of that, I shall grant you a reward.

You will now inherit the darkness and be reborn as a human. Your purpose in that life is to find the Akelma Key, unlock the Ten Plague Gates, and open the seal to the Underworld, so we may begin the Holy war for which we have waited for ages.

We have hidden in the shadows, biding our time, and now it is your turn to fulfill the part of our prophecy.

Akaresh raised a dagger high, poised to strike.

Lucifero gave out a smile, ready to accept his new fate.

"Everything you've built from ashes will be mine when I return home. Just exercise patience, dear father, and wait for your worthless son to return."

The dagger pierced Lucifero's heart, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. His vision fading to black.
