In Kyoto's land of towering buildings and vibrant nightlife, luxury cars chase each other on the streets, neon lights flicker everywhere, and the air is filled with a modern and fashionable atmosphere.
Yan Rufeng followed the address given by her mother to the gate of a mansion in the suburbs of Kyoto. As she looked up, the two gilded characters "Mu Mansion" came into view.
"Who are you? Don't just stand at the gate of Mu Mansion if you have no business here. Move along." An impatient voice of an elderly gatekeeper urged.
"My surname is Yan, given name Rufeng. Please inform the head of the Mu Family that I, Yan Rufeng, wish to see him."
"Hah!"
The gatekeeper mocked, "The young offspring of the Yan Family, how audacious of you. Do you think you can meet our family head? Even if your old clan leader came, we wouldn't entertain you. I've got one word for you: get lost!"
The gatekeeper almost shouted the last sentence.
