Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 Grandpa Qiao

In fact, it wasn't just Qin Han; everyone in the room had heard the commotion. It was just that Qin Han had reacted a step faster.

"What good does walking fast do? As if he could smooth things over," a male relative of the Song family scoffed.

"Xiaotong, there's nothing wrong with someone caring about their wife," another voice quipped sarcastically, yet it was full of disdain.

The speaker was a man dressed in a suit and shiny leather shoes, with slicked-back hair.

Qin Han, having a keen sense of hearing, certainly heard the two men's discussion; the one with glasses was his eldest uncle's second son-in-law, Wang Yifeng, who wielded some influence, and the one with the slicked-back hair was the eldest uncle's first son-in-law, Hu Yonglai, also in the real estate business.

Qin Han knew a bit about what the two men were thinking. Men deliberately flaunting themselves in front of women, their intentions were self-evident.

This was not the first or second time Qin Han had been subjected to their sneers and jeers. Who was so useless before? Living a cowardly life, one couldn't even protect money or family.

However, at that moment, Qin Han had no intention to bother with them; to him, the two were merely clowns.

He briskly walked to the door, holding Didi.

In the hallway, a greasy-faced man stood in front of Song Yuwei, whose helpless and panicked eyes pained Qin Han.

"Beauty, just a drink. Why reject me? You could ask around; there are many women who'd willingly drink with Mr. Qiao," the man chuckled slyly.

He seemed sure of having Song Yuwei, his eyes undisguised with desire, licentiously scanning over her.

"I... I don't know you," Song Yuwei said, trembling with fear.

"Have a drink, and you'll know me," Mr. Qiao smirked. The next moment, he stretched out his greasy hand to grab Song Yuwei's.

Song Yuwei dodged back, but discovered her palm landed into another, not very broad but very warm palm.

"Fuck! Who's this bumpkin, daring to flirt with my sister." As Qin Han stepped forward, Wang Yifeng's voice rang out, but he was instantly pulled back by Hu Yonglai.

"That's Mr. Qiao! We can't afford to mess with him," Hu Yonglai whispered.

Wang Yifeng shuddered. As Mr. Qiao was not facing him, Wang took a closer look and recognized this notorious figure in Zhongzhou, his forehead immediately covered in beads of sweat.

Meanwhile, Qin Han was standing in front of Song Yuwei, face to face with Mr. Qiao. It was the first time he held Song Yuwei's small hand; it was slippery and had an indescribable marvelous feeling.

Song Yuwei looked at Qin Han's back. It was the first time she felt that Qin Han was responsible. However, this feeling lasted only for a moment because she knew she could not let Qin Han get physical, otherwise...

Sigh, if he really had backbone, he wouldn't have spent three years bowing and scraping to the Song family, enduring their scorn and biting his tongue, all for a bit of money.

Mr. Qiao, also drunk, patted his huge head, looking around.

"Who the fuck is cursing at me? Come out here!"

As Mr. Qiao spoke, Wang Yifeng instinctively retreated, fearing that Mr. Qiao would see him.

The relatives from the Song family, watching this unfold, were completely unsure what to do. In Zhongzhou, the Song family had some resources, hence they ran several construction teams. But they were ultimately a second-rate clan, familiar only by Mr. Qiao's reputation.

"Boy, was it you who cursed?" Mr. Qiao's gaze landed on Qin Han and asked coldly.

"Yes, it was him, Mr. Qiao. What would you like to do? It's all up to you!" Hu Yonglai stepped forward, respectfully saying.

Qin Han handed Didi to Song Yuwei and looked at Mr. Qiao with a calm face.

"In my life, what I hate most is someone calling me a bumpkin. You, boy, are bold, daring to provoke me!" Mr. Qiao looked at Qin Han and smirked coldly.

A group of burly men in black approached from a distance, and at the sight, Hu Yonglai's legs went weak with fear.

"Boss Joe, you go ahead, I'll excuse myself." As he spoke, he also signaled Song Yuwei, taking advantage of Boss Joe's focus on Qin Han, to let Song Yuwei slip away. They couldn't afford to mess with Boss Joe; as for Qin Han, whether he lived or died had nothing to do with the Song family.

"Qin Han, you should go. I... I'll handle it myself." Hearing Song Yuwei's words, a smile appeared on Qin Han's calm face. Even though Song Yuwei still didn't believe in him, and didn't regard him as her husband yet, her words still warmed his heart.

He looked at Song Yuwei, his eyes carrying a hint of a smile.

"Who could harm you while I'm here?" His words carried a powerful confidence.

"Daddy, please don't fight, okay?" Didi, innocent and naive, could also tell that Qin Han was about to fight. Unlike the others in the hall, Qin Han usually fought with these rough-looking men, and it never ended well.

"Didi, remember, sometimes tolerance only leads to more humiliation!" Qin Han gently tapped Didi's little nose.

Didi looked at Qin Han with a half-understanding gaze, while Song Yuwei tightly grabbed Qin Han's arm, pleading, "Qin Han, please... don't fight, let's go home."

"Indeed, this woman's pitiable look, really has flavor," Boss Joe said as he stared at Song Yuwei, his face distorted by a lewd grin.

"My woman is not for you to judge!" Qin Han turned his head and said coldly.

"Ignorance truly is bliss. A loser is always a loser!" Watching this scene, Wang Yifeng shook his head disdainfully. "This fool must not know who Boss Joe is."

Song Yuwei's eyebrows were tightly knitted, her face filled with panic. Although Qin Han's courage was admirable in that moment, how was he going to solve this? By bravado and fighting? Their opponents looked formidable; what should they do?

"Damn, he really is an impudent young fool, hit him!" Boss Joe sneered coldly, it had been many years since anyone had dared to speak to him like this.

Upon hearing Boss Joe's command, over a dozen men in black swiftly moved to surround Qin Han.

Qin Han pushed Song Yuwei and Didi back, despair visible in Song Yuwei. He was still going to fight. She did not know what state he would end up in this time, especially since there were so many of them, clearly tough fighters from the streets.

Song Yuwei, terrified, held Didi tightly, one hand over Didi's eyes, her own eyes also subconsciously shut. This was not the first time she had witnessed such a scene; each time, Qin Han was left badly beaten.

"Damn!"

"My hand!"

"Ah!"

"Smack!"

Yet, with her eyes closed, Song Yuwei did not hear Qin Han scream. Instead, there were several other cries of pain. She cautiously opened her eyes and looked around.

To her surprise, she saw about a dozen men lying scattered in the corridor, the very same men in black who were with Boss Joe.

The stunned onlookers weren't limited to Song Yuwei; other members of the Song family who had come to watch were equally shocked.

When did this loser learn to fight like this?

"Kid, no wonder you dared to talk to me like that? You've got some moves. Just you wait!" Boss Joe was startled by Qin Han's display; his dozen men were floored in less than a minute. Who was this kid?

"Kid, today I admit defeat, but dare you leave your name!" Boss Joe, after all, was a top figure in Zhongzhou, and seeing that he couldn't win, his tone was still commanding though he asked.

Qin Han was somewhat surprised by Boss Joe's attitude. If Boss Joe had begged for mercy immediately after he made a move, Qin Han would have really looked down on him.

"Qin Han!" Qin Han said indifferently, without any hesitation.

"Let's go!" Boss Joe waved his hand grandly and walked out with his men.
