Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Disappointment

"Are you Jiang Qingxue?"

Qin Guang narrowed his eyes and asked softly.

The person before him was exactly like the photo the old man had provided, and even called Jiang Jiye 'Grandpa'.

Could this be his fiancée, Jiang Qingxue?

"You recognize me, you're not crazy, you came looking for me on purpose?"

Jiang Qingxue furrowed her brows.

Now, she dared not call the police or even raise her voice to call the servants downstairs for help.

Because she feared Qin Guang might become desperate.

She said in a deep voice, "Who exactly are you and what are your intentions for sneaking into my house?"

"So you really are Jiang Qingxue!"

Qin Guang sized Jiang Qingxue up and down but did not sense his True Qi in her chest area.

He had previously mistaken Ning Weiwei for his fiancée and left some True Qi in Ning Weiwei's body while treating her, yet now, Jiang Qingxue's body had no trace of this strand of True Qi.

That meant they were not the same person!

But how could two people, even with different surnames, look exactly alike?

This misunderstanding was indeed getting out of hand.

First, he mistook Ning Weiwei for Jiang Qingxue, treated her as his fiancée, calling her 'wife' to her face, and she thought him a madman.

Then he mistook Jiang Qingxue for Ning Weiwei, and now Jiang Qingxue also took him for a madman.

Qin Guang asked, "Do you have a sister or a younger sister named Ning Weiwei?"

"I don't have a sister, nor a younger sister. I'm an only child, and I don't know anyone named Ning Weiwei. Who in the world are you, sneaking into my home with what purpose? If someone has sent you to hurt my grandpa, I can offer twice the price for you to leave now!"

Jiang Qingxue took a nervous step back, almost pressing herself against the bed where Jiang Jiye lay.

She had been frail since childhood, and facing Qin Guang, a stranger who had barged into her home, it was a lie to say she wasn't scared.

But she was even more reluctant to let her grandfather get hurt.

"You're actually an only child?"

Qin Guang felt his brain wasn't quite keeping up.

Upon closer inspection, Qin Guang noticed that Jiang Qingxue's chest also showed signs of blood stagnation. Like Ning Weiwei, she too suffered from chest pain.

Identical appearances, and even identical illnesses, yet these two people had no connection at all.

"Has your grandpa ever told you that you have a betrothal from childhood, and your fiancé's name is Qin Guang?"

Qin Guang tried asking tentatively.

This time he had learned his lesson and didn't start by claiming he was her fiancé.

"How do you know about that?"

Jiang Qingxue frowned; only her family members knew about this.

Could it have been my second uncle who let it out?

He has always been competing with me for the control of the company. Is he trying to use this to strike at me?

Claiming that I will eventually marry and leave, therefore not worthy to inherit the family business?

Qin Guang, unaware of Jiang Qingxue's thoughts at this time, breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing her words. It seemed that Jiang Qingxue was aware of the betrothal.

He smiled and said, "Because I am Qin Guang, by reason, I would be your fiancé."

"You are Qin Guang?"

Jiang Qingxue was stunned.

Jiang Jiye had told her quite early on that she had an unseen fiancé, the direct heir of a powerful medical family.

She had actually harbored some anticipation for this fiancé.

But the Qin Guang before her eyes,

Although he was passably handsome, his dress sense was just too old-fashioned.

Faded blue jeans, a blue and white checkered shirt, and a khaki-colored bag slung across his body.

This hardly seemed like the direct heir of a powerful medical family.

He looked more like he had just stepped out of some deep mountain area.

And this Qin Guang seemed even unclear in his thinking.

The words he said at the villa's front gate still left her somewhat baffled to this moment.

At this instant, all the anticipation Jiang Qingxue had harbored for years about her fiancé completely shattered.

"You don't seem very happy? You don't want to marry me?"

Qin Guang noticed Jiang Qingxue did not show the joy one might expect at hearing his name.

Jiang Qingxue took a deep breath and said sternly, "My grandpa said you could cure him. Can you do that?"

Qin Guang smiled and replied, "Of course, I was just about to treat him. If you hadn't barged in, perhaps he would have already woken up by now."

"Then I am willing to marry you."

Jiang Qingxue turned her gaze out the window and spoke softly.
