Heipi's move left Chen Yang somewhat puzzled.
"What are you doing? Thank me for what?"
Chen Yang was truly bewildered, as he hadn't done any good deeds recently, and wondered why he was being thanked.
"Don't be so modest," said Heipi with a smile. "The village chief said it all, the fact that our entire area could replace the electric cables and widen the roads, all of it is thanks to your good fortune. Otherwise, how could something so great happen?"
With a smile, Heipi playfully thumped Chen Yang's chest, thinking Chen Yang was just being too modest and pretending to know nothing about it.
"Oh... that..."
But Chen Yang truly hadn't expected Heipi to thank him for that, and it was only after Heipi mentioned it that he realized why.
However, once he came to his senses, Chen Yang immediately tried to give back all the milk and other items Heipi had brought.
"Thanks are thanks, but I cannot accept these gifts. Take them back with you."
Chen Yang refused the gifts with a smile.
