When Wang Dahai arrived at Liu Lin's house, it was almost eleven o'clock.
He knocked on the door, and after a long while, the door finally opened.
"Who is it?"
It was Mr. Lin who opened the door, mumbling.
Wang Dahai sighed with relief, thankful that Mr. Lin hadn't gone fishing today.
"You are..."
Upon seeing Wang Dahai, Mr. Lin only felt that he looked familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere before but couldn't quite remember.
It wasn't until Liu Lin also came over in her nightgown and said, "It's Dahai."
"Oh, Dahai, what brings you here?"
Wang Dahai quickly explained the situation, and after listening, Mr. Lin immediately realized the seriousness of the matter.
Though he was unclear why his own daughter needed him at such an hour, he knew it must be something serious.
He left without even changing his shoes.
Just as Wang Dahai was about to follow, he heard Liu Lin say, "I'll come too."
But she would be much slower, as she had to go back to change her clothes.
