Master Zhikong chanted a Buddhist mantra, a faint smile on his face, very much the image of an enlightened monk from beyond this world. He extended a hand to help the kneeling couple to their feet and said, "Monks harbor compassion and offer convenience to others as well as themselves. There is no need for such formalities, Benefactors."
After standing up, Wu Dequan and Jiang Yurou asked anxiously, "Master, what was it that troubled Fei Fei? Have you subdued it? Will it come back again?"
Jiang Yurou also looked intently at Master Zhikong, hoping to get a firm answer from him.
