After getting out of the car, Lin Feng headed straight for the town government's main entrance.
The gate was manned by an old man about sixty or so, wearing presbyopic glasses, leisurely sitting at the gatehouse's entrance reading a newspaper, with a tea cup made out of a tin can in front of him, filled with tea.
Seeing Lin Feng approaching, the old gatekeeper quickly stood up and called out, "Hey, hey! That young man, yes, I'm talking to you! Who are you looking for?"
Lin Feng found the old man's tone rather offensive, which made him slightly unhappy. However, he was just an old gatekeeper, not worth arguing with. So, Lin Feng replied with a light smile, "I'm here to see Deputy County Chief Ma."
"Looking for Deputy County Chief Ma? Who are you? Did you make an appointment in advance?" The old gatekeeper sized up Lin Feng, noticed that Lin Feng didn't look like a bad person, and his tone wasn't as aggressive as before, but he still asked with some vigilance.
