"Squad leader, have old Fogen and the others gone too far?" Beneath a tree, Hercules munched on dry rations while at his side, a platoon leader quietly inquired.
"It's fine," Hercules's voice was utterly casual, yet his gaze remained unrippled.
He lifted his head to look forward and then refocused on the dry rations in his hand.
"Don't overthink it. Our mission this time is crucial. I've heard that although this Demon Nest is only rated as a B-level, many details have shown anomalies. Not just us, but all the major families, the royal family, and even the temple will send people over here to investigate."
"War, huh? No war is without casualties."
"I'm just worried about the boss's pretty boy," Platoon Leader Quinn chuckled, but his offhand comment darkened Hercules's face immediately.
His hand stiffened in mid-air, and after a long pause, Hercules, somewhat angrily, threw the remaining bit of buttered bread far away, leaving it for birds to peck at.
