Fate could broadly be divided into two types, one prescribed by the Life-Fate Star Lord of the Heavenly Realm, which was the most common kind. And the other was ordained by the heaven and earth in the profound darkness. Both could be referred to as destiny.
However, even though the Heavenly Realm possessed the authority to determine fate, the fates they decreed were not entirely accurate. For they had to observe the heavenly bodies and feel the intentions of heaven and earth before decreeing fate and could not make significant changes to destiny.
After all, fate was not something that the Heavenly Realm could control, and what the Heavenly Realm determined was mostly accurate and unchangeable. But the commands of heaven and earth were not so; the will of heaven and earth could change in an instant, unless it concerned a major event.
