But that was true for "humans"; most monsters lacked that level of intelligence.
After a while, a figure holding a lantern emerged from the thick fog, draped in a large magic robe, with the face hidden under the hood.
The lantern's design was very old, the metal already rusted, and the glowing element inside wasn't a sunstone but an unknown flame.
The figure, possibly a mage, was slightly taken aback upon entering and seeing the frozen vast remnants of the unknown mutant. Some parts were freezing, while others emanated intense heat, seemingly oblivious to the already dispersed poison fog.
