The trees alongside the mountain path rustled in the breeze, and besides the sound of the wind, Xiaoju could only hear her footsteps and heartbeat.
The sound of the waterfall grew louder, drowning out other noises.
Soon, a deep pool appeared before her. Xiaoju quickened her pace, trying not to linger by the water.
She reached the waterfall and ascended the mountain path. The roaring of the waterfall rang in her ears, particularly deafening at night.
