Mrs. H stared at me as if assessing whether I was serious. What she saw in me must have impressed her.
Mrs. H said, "You said something about owning securities. I didn't see any in your collateral pack. Do you know the market value?"
"Well, I own about ten thousand in Heavenly Enterprises. Maybe three times that in my retirement savings. Why? Do you know someone who specializes in accidents?"
"Sell me the Hermes bag. Use your portfolio to back your loan. I may be able to help with your boyfriend problem."
Holy hell. This was more than I expected. And we had it on video. If we followed through on the assault, I could use it against Mrs. H to find out who paid for Bea's accident.
"You're serious?" Angie asked. "You could do that? I mean, this guy is a real jerk. I've been trying to get Tee to leave him for months now. Last month, he sent her to the hospital."
