"It's quite the miracle your wife survived the accident, Mr Enenra. She had suffered several burns on her body and sustained severe damage to her spine, which paralysed her from the waist down. I believe she may never walk again."
A man in a white lab coat stood before Patrick while reading out his wife's condition from a clipboard. Patrick sat there—dazed. He hadn't yet processed what the doctor said.
The doctor stared at Patrick's dazed eyes with an understanding look and waited patiently for him before continuing. Several people, both patients and nurses, passed by them with a pitying look directed at Patrick.
Patrick had waited in the hospital day and night, just hoping for his wife to be fine.
While he was at work, he was interrupted by the news of his wife getting into a tragic car accident. He dashed out of his workplace and drove to where the accident had happened.
