Chapter 139 - Danger Lurks Ahead (2)

Upon entering Ronald's bedroom, Luna quickly casted a web of azure-colored lights using hand-signs and formed a invisible intricate hexagram array on the ground in a flash.

Afterwards, Luna proceeded to sit down onto an armchair nearby and subtly hid her wounded hand behind her back as she watched Ronald enter the room.

"..." Ronald, who didn't see Luna create the array but could tell that there was one in his room, couldn't help but stare at Luna weirdly.

Although he didn't know what kind of array Luna had created in the first place, he could tell that the noises in this room were completely cut off from outside.

This meant that even if he were to scream as loud as he possibly could while inside this room, none of his screams would still be heard from outside...

Which also basically means that Luna could literally do anything to him right now and nobody would know about it.

'No, don't tell me... is Luna seriously about to do something to me right now?'

Ronald was absolutely morbidly horrified in his heart now.

Even if it wasn't for the sake of the plot, Ronald didn't want Luna touching him in any way, shape, or form.

After all, even though Luna was indeed extremely pretty and every other man in the entire world would want to do it with her if given the chance, he was a changed man.

Maybe if this occured back in his previous life when he still didn't have a major hatred towards all of the heroines, then maybe he'd be willing to do it with her.

'But it will never happen now.'

Just as Ronald was figuring out a way to make an excuse and escape from the room however...

"Ronald, you don't have to stand there in reverence like that. We're engaged now, so just treat me as an equal from now on and take a seat, okay?" Assuming that Ronald was just acting like his usual self, Luna looked warmly at Ronald.

"Uh, sure thing." Ronald couldn't come up with any excuses at all and decided to just compromise for now.

So Ronald reluctantly sat down on the armchair next to Luna's and started to look at her affectionately.

"So what was it that you need from me Luna? If you need more money for your company then I'll happily give you another few million yuan." Ronald stated.

"Thank you, but my company's been doing well for itself recently, so I don't need any more of your money. In fact, if you ever run out of allowance money for the month, then let me know and I'll give you as much as you want." Luna leaned her head on her uninjured hand to get a better view of Ronald as she spoke sweetly.

"No, no, no, I could never ask you for money, Luna. You know my love for you is absolutely unconditional, and I don't want to be repaid back in any way." Ronald's eyes couldn't help but twitch as he firmly announced.

"I know, I know. I just wanted to let you know just in case if you ever needed it." Luna had already anticipated this response from Ronald and chuckled, "Anyways, what I mainly wanted to come in your room for was to ask you if you've ever heard of anybody by the name of Lin Zhu before."

"Uh, I can't say that I have, no." Ronald answered truthfully.

"What about the name Lin Minyi then?" Luna questioned casually.

Ronald didn't reply back straight away and instead fell deep into thought.

Although he wasn't surprised that Luna knew about Lin Minyi considering that she was the older sister of that female assassin that he had hired beforehand to deal with Luna's subordinates, he was slightly confused as to why she was asking him about Lin Minyi to begin with.

After all, what difference does it make if he's heard, or even met Lin Minyi before or not.

It's not like the battle between Luna and Lin Minyi's sister, which he presumes is named Lin Zhu, will change depending on the answer he gives anyways.

After thinking about it for a little more however...

"The grey-haired woman? Yeah I've heard of her before." Ronald nodded his head.

While he believed that the better answer choice was to say that he hasn't heard of her before, he was slightly worried that if he did say so, then Luna would try and 'reasonably' talk to Lin Minyi and Lin Zhu, which of course isn't good for him since the two sisters actually know about his strength...

Not to mention the fact that he had completely forgot to tell them beforehand that he didn't want his strength being revealed to others.

'I really blundered this time.'

But oh well, not all hopes are lost though since he could always just kill them before they say anything about him anyways...

'...'

"From where?" Hearing that Ronald has actually heard of Lin Minyi before, Luna's posture went from relaxed to more serious and she straightened up.

"From my dad, he texted me an image of her once a few days ago and told me that I should contact him with my location right away if I ever saw her in person." Considering that Lin Zhu knew a lot about his Kuangge family, Ronald used his dad's name as credibility to lie.

"..." Luna didn't ask Ronald any more questions and instead just simply stared at him with a doubtful look on her face.

It wasn't that Luna didn't believe Ronald whatsoever.

Oh no, not at all.

She knew that Ronald would never lie to her.

And even on the off-chance that he does ever lie to her, she wouldn't mind it anyways.

She just found it a bit weird that Ronald's father actually cared about Lin Minyi, or at least cared enough about her to let his son know about her.

Arnold was an individual that was at the very top of the upper class of society after all, and even if Lin Minyi's 'incurable' disease had been cured infront of his very eyes, Luna was still positive that he wouldn't even glance at her direction whatsoever.

That's right, Luna knew all about the Kuangge family and how both the Kuangge family in the United States and the one in China were both ran by the same family head, Arnold Kuangge.

And she had to admit, Arnold Kuangge hid that fact extremely well as well.

If it weren't for the sole fact that the grandiose Kuangge family in the United States had slowly collapsed as well about 150 years after Ronald's death, Luna probably would've never guessed that both Kuangge families were related.

But regardless, since Ronald's statement had confirmed it for her that he was truly being targetted by them and she could easily guess the motives behind their actions as well, Luna needed to quickly get some work done today and then go pay them a visit.

So after gazing upon Ronald's gorgeous face one more time, Luna stood up.

Seeing this, Ronald stood up out of habit as well.

But just before Ronald could say anything flattering to Luna however, Luna's lips suddenly made contact with Ronald's lips, and she began kissing him.

During the kiss though, Luna secretly used her bloodied hand to grab onto the diamond watch on Ronald's hand and drew a small dragon coiled around a lotus flower at the center of the watch using her blood.

All of the wounds and blood that were on Luna's hand beforehand then quickly evaporated, along with all of the blood that were smeared onto the watch.

After all was said and done, Luna finally stopped kissing him and she slightly leaned her head back to look at Ronald's full face.

"Ronald, can I ask you one more question before I go?" Luna asked with her beautiful crimson red eyes gazed deeply into his pupils.

"...Sure." Ronald, who was still slowly processing everything that had just happened in the last couple of seconds, answered in a slow speech.

"Can you wait just a little bit longer for me until I get everything sorted out?"

"..?"

"Sure?"
