Chapter 63 - Am I The Protagonist?

When Ye Fan saw Xie Roulin obediently listening to Ronald and putting the Desert Eagle down, even though he should've been happy about the fact that there was no longer a gun pointed directly at his forehead, he wasn't happy.

On the contrary, he was extremely aggrieved.

Even though Ye Fan somewhat knew that Xie Roulin had to pretend to care about Ronald on the surface, he didn't understand why when it came to him, despite the fact that he had never done anything remotely offensive towards Xie Roulin, she treated him like actual trash.

Did he actually do something to Xie Roulin that forced her to act this way?

Just as he was about to rack up his brain and try to recall about everything he's done so far that might've somehow offended Xie Roulin, she started to cry infront of the entire public while murmuring the phrase 'I'm sorry' to Ronald.

That was when a lightbulb went off inside his head.

Since Xie Roulin was extremely distressed right now and nobody was standing up for her, if he stood up for her and showed her that he was someone she could rely on, wouldn't he be able to capture her heart?

So with that in mind, Ye Fan headed over to Ronald and called him a piece of shit for making Xie Roulin cry.

"..." Ronald looked at Ye Fan with confusion in his eyes.

Isn't Ye Fan suppose to be the one comforting Xie Roulin instead while Ronald was suppose to offend him?

Why does it seem like the roles have gotten reversed instead?

Even though Ronald doesn't really look like a 'protagonist' in this current situation since he had made Xie Roulin cry, he definitely didn't feel like a villain right now.

Ye Fan felt more like a villain than anything...

Hold up...

'Have I become the protagonist of this god awful novel instead?'

Ronald didn't want to believe that he actually became the protagonist of this world.

However, after everything that has happened so far in the past three weeks, that sounded like the most plausible idea.

But Ronald didn't want to become the protagonist at all!

Even just thinking about being the protagonist of this shitty novel made him feel sickened to the core.

Maybe if he ended up getting transmigrated as the protagonist in his first life then it wouldn't of mattered as much.

But it was definitely too late for that to happen now.

Ronald then turned his head and looked at Gu Changsheng, who was sitting infront of him with an... astonished look on his face?

Although he didn't know why Gu Changsheng looked like he was currently looking at god right now when he literally made Xie Roulin cry, Ronald at least managed to confirm that he hadn't actually regressed as a protagonist.

Or at least Ronald didn't think he regressed as a protagonist.

After all, Ronald could tell that Gu Changsheng considered him to be his friend, and Gu Changsheng was also a minor villain as well.

So after thinking about it a bit more, Ronald looked at Xie Roulin, who was still balling her eyes out, and decided to at least rub her head in order to at least try and comfort her before he started his bar plot.

And it seemed like that somehow did the trick as well, since Xie Roulin's entire body started to shake when she felt Ronald's hands and slowly started to stop crying.

"Haha look who's back for more! I didn't know you wanted to get beaten up by yours truly again!" Ronald looked at Ye Fan arrogantly and said in a mocking tone.

Ye Fan couldn't help but recall back to about three weeks ago to the time when he had gotten humiliated inside of the hotel lobby.

Even though Ronald and his gangsters weren't technically the ones who had managed to beat him up, Ye Fan still wanted to teach Ronald a lesson and smack that arrogant look off of his face.

"Don't act so cocky Ronald, you have to get other people to do your work for you, you're extremely pathetic."

"Pathetic? Haha, unlike you, whose life is completely worthless and insignificant, I have money, power, and influence to do whatever the hell I want in this city. The only reason why you're alive right now is because I allowed you to live." Ronald had a smirk on his face.

In a sense, this was technically true, the reason why Ye Fan was even alive right now was because he couldn't afford to let this stupid protagonist die, at least not until he gets back to earth.

Just before Ye Fan was about to retort back at Ronald, Gu Changsheng made a follow up comment with Ronald's statement.

"That's right Ronald, the only reason why he's alive right now is because you allowed him to live, I, on the other hand however won't be as merciful. Ye Fan, you remember my face, don't you?" Gu Changsheng stood up from the booth and looked directly at Ye Fan's face with a mischievous grin on his face.

"You're the idiot that tried to pick up a girl and got sent to jail, right?" Although Lucas specifically told him to try and not offend Gu Changsheng and his friends, Ye Fan wouldn't allow anyone to offend him and get away with it.

"It's quite sad that that's all you remember me by, but for someone who has a peanut sized brain like you, I'm quite impressed. Anyways, I'm Gu Changsheng, the son of the almighty Changsheng family." Gu Changsheng held his nose up high and said proudly.

Even though Gu Changsheng told Ye Fan who he was back when they first met on the streets, Gu Changsheng decided to announce who he was one more time in order to show Ye Fan his superiority.

"Oh you're apart of the Changsheng family from the capital city, right? I'm so scared~" Ye Fan stated with a sarcastic remark.

"That's right, you should be. If you bark like a dog and crawl around this bar on your two hands and feet, I might just give you a less severe beating." Gu Changsheng thought that Ye Fan was actually afraid of him and started to gain a massive ego boost.

"Dream on, I'm not afraid of your pathetic excuse of a family, and I'm most certainly not afraid of you." Ye Fan looked at Gu Changsheng with contempt.

Gu Changsheng wasn't even worthy of licking off the dirt off of his shoes, and all Gu Changsheng had going for him was his family background.

But even his family background couldn't even compare to Ye Fan's background and backers at all.

So with that in mind, Ye Fan decided that he was going to use every rich second generation here as his stepping stone and prove to Xie Roulin how incredible he was.
