Chapter 21 - Transmigrators?

For the entire duration of the ride back to the Kuangge's residence, Ronald was too tired to even talk to Iris, so he told her not to bother him and took a nap.

After arriving back at his room, he decided to ask Iris a series of questions and wanted to double check that Iris was still on Ye Fan's side.

"You, what's your name?" Ronald looked at Iris in a disdainful demeanor.

"Iris, Young Master Kuangge." Iris respectfully bowed her head.

"Okay, Iris. Why did you humiliate me infront of the entire auction house by spilling water on me?"

"I'm sorry Young Master Kuangge, I didn't mean to-"

"I don't want to hear any excuses, tell me why you had done so, otherwise you'll regret it." Ronald wanted to provoke a hateful reaction out of her, so he raised his voice.

"...I'm really sorry Young Master Kuangge. This lowly maid will accept any punishments that the Young Master will hand out." Although she knew that Ronald was extremely nice and wouldn't punish her, teardrops started dripping down from her face.

She felt so ashamed and unworthy of being next to Ronald after everything she's done both in this present and past life.

'What the hell? When did a world-class killer become this sensitive to the point where a slightly raised tone would cause her to cry? These has got to definitely be something wrong here.' Ronald looked at Iris with an unhinged face, there was no way that he didn't know that something was wrong at this point.

First it was Luna, the business queen who never cared about anything else besides building up her business and took advantage of all her pursuers out there without giving them any face, including Ronald himself.

That same Luna suddenly hugged him the moment they met at the banquet and showed up to his house to drop him off at the auction house.

Next it was Xie Roulin, the influence queen who practically was heartless and was cruel to the point where even a mention of her name could strike the fear in a lot of people, and hated Ronald specifically but decided to hold back after seeing that her supposed best friend Luna was getting a bunch of benefits from him.

That Xie Roulin ended up also standing up for him the moment he was about to get face slapped by Ye Fan and denounced her own best friend for him.

Then there was Li Wanruo, let alone her family, she herself was individually much stronger than most of the elite bodyguards of all of the major families combined and never found interest in anyone besides Ye Fan in the previous life.

That Li Wanruo is now seemingly trying her best to defend Ronald's pride and not even giving a chance for Ye Fan to speak up.

Now Iris, who was known to be one of the strongest killers out there that wouldn't even flinch even if her life was at stake, was now crying just because he had slightly raised his tone.

Ronald just couldn't understand, leaving aside the auction house plot and the two heroines from that, how the hell was the banquet plot considered complete when it looked like a complete disaster in front of his eyes?

It would've been more believable if someone had suddenly came up to him and told him that aliens would come down on the planet tomorrow and destroy the entire world.

Hey, maybe that might not even be such a bad idea for this shitty novel world.

The system can't blame him for something he didn't do after all.

After thinking about it for a few more minutes, the only possible conclusion he came up with was that the heroine's personality had changed completely by something or someone.

But he didn't want to ask the system just yet as he knew that he couldn't just rely on the system all the time.

Anyways, hypothetically speaking, let's say that the heroine's personality did change, why would they all start acting affectionate towards him?

There was absolutely nothing good about him whatsoever besides his family background.

Even an absolutely talentless individual would have more characteristics than him.

So Ronald could only assume that their original souls must have been replaced by another, possibly by someone in a situation similar to his.

'Wait, could it be that all the heroines have also transmigrated?'

Right! That makes so much sense now!

Maybe they too, had a system whose sole goal was to disrupt the plot as much as possible.

Although Ronald was almost certain at this point that they had transmigrated just like him, he wanted to make sure that he was 100 percent correct.

He looked at Iris, who still had some tears in her eyes and was staring at him as if there was no tomorrow, and decided he might as well test his theory with her first.

So he thought to himself a question he could ask Iris that the original Iris would've known but nobody else would without ruining his character as a brainless minor villain.

Just while Ronald was thinking about a good question to ask, Iris on the other hand was so mesmerized by the look on his face.

'I wonder what the Young Master is thinking right now. I bet that he's thinking of an excuse to let me off the hook...'

'The Young Master is so nice, and yet why does the entire world have to go against my Young Master?'

'Ah, how cruel this world has to be.'

'The Young Master is too nice for this world.'

'This world doesn't deserve him at all.'

'How dare everyone and this world allow the Young Master to suffer like this... myself included.'

'Although I will never forgive myself in the past life, I have to stay alive so that the same mistakes won't happen again.'

'No matter what kind of obstacles the world throws at the Young Master's way, I will completely cut off anything and everything that dares to even stand in the way, even if the gods themselves ends up standing in his way.'

'And you're first...'

'Ye Fan.'
