As soon as Ronald had disappeared from her sights, Luna's face instantly turned cold again.
The cold look on her face wasn't her typical gaze that she wore all the time though.
No, this current expression lacked any hint of emotion, was completely lifeless, and felt utterly soulless.
Furthermore, there was killing intent hidden deeply within her crimson red eyes.
After all, how could she ever forget about this day?
It's been so long since she had lived through this exact day, but she still remembers everything vividly.
That's right, today was the day when she had first hired that bastard as a bodyguard in her previous life and brought him over here to the trade show.
'The bastard Ye Fan.'
The man who had plotted against the Kuangge family everytime he had the chance...
And the main reason why Ronald had chosen to commit suicide in her previous life.
God, just thinking about his name made her so fucking unfathomably mad.
No doubt that even if Ronald hadn't committed suicide back then, Ye Fan would've ended up killing him sooner or later.
What's worse was that in that previous life, she had chosen to actually help Ye Fan plot against Ronald, and that ended up becoming her lifetime regret.
If she could, she would've absolutely tried to kill Ye Fan in this life by now.
Unfortunately, she can't do anything too major to Ye Fan right now.
Ye Fan is currently one of the four gods of war in the west after all, and was just one level down from the official strongest being in those areas, which is the Dragon King.
Now of course, having such a title like that, Ye Fan was naturally incredibly strong and skilled, but that isn't what she was worried about at all.
Oh no, she could easily just train for a day and then absolutely annihilate him.
The main problem though is his background.
Ye Fan currently has such a strong background overseas that she can't kill him without facing the consequences...
At least not now.
But she wasn't too worried about that.
She's killed Ye Fan once already in her previous life when he was significantly stronger after all.
She just needed to properly build some of her true strength and influence back up, then she'll strike.
Until then, she's going to have to play the long game.
On that note, Luna went around to the other exhibition stands and started networking.
***
About an hour has passed ever since Ronald has started taking his rounds at the trade show, and he was honestly starting to get nervous.
Why?
It's because Ye Fan never went back to Luna at all, nor could he even find Ye Fan anywhere in the building whatsoever!
Sure, the building that the trade show was taking place in was extremely massive and currently has over tens of thousands of people in it, but still, Ye Fan should stick out like a sore thumb.
He's the protagonist after all!
What attention seeking chinese protagonist would ever want to blend himself into the crowd if they're not hiding from something or someone in the first place?
None!
'So what gives right now?'
Whatever the reason might be, Ronald was praying to the almighty gods from above to hurry up and bring Ye Fan over here already so that he can actually continue on with this stupid plot of his.
As Ronald was beginning to grow impatient however, he noticed from the corner of his eyes that one of the employees from one of the exhibition stands nearby was arguing loudly with a consumer about a product of theirs.
Intrigued, Ronald headed on over to the commotion to see what everything was about.
And there he saw him.
A handsome figure wearing a colorful shirt, white shorts, and a pair of sandles.
That's right, it's the protagonist, Ye Fan.
And he was currently arguing with one of the salesman about a bad product the exhibition stand was trying to show off.
What Ronald found odd though was why Ye Fan was dressed like this when he wore a more business casual like outfit back when they first met in his previous life instead.
However, he soon quickly deducted that Ye Fan most likely never came in as Luna's bodyguard to begin with.
But that then beckons the questions, how did Ye Fan step into this invite only trade show to begin with, and why didn't Luna hire him as a bodyguard for tonight?
Of course, the first answer was obvious, as Ye Fan was the protagonist after all.
There's no place that Ye Fan can't get into without being thrown out, even if he looked like he had just came back from visiting Hawaii.
Or maybe the gods did hear Ronald's prayers.
After all, this shitty plot can't start without the protagonist being present.
But why didn't Luna hire him as a bodyguard?
Back when he was still on earth and reading the novel, he recalled that Ye Fan submitted an application that was so outstanding while still omitting most of his actual background that Luna hired him right away.
And it was evident that was the case in his previous life as well.
'Well whatever, as long as his personality is still the same then not all is lost.'
Ronald shrugged and then began easedropping onto the argument along with the rest of the crowd.
"Sir, if you keep calling our products inferior goods and slandering our good company's name like this, then I won't hesitate to call over the guards and get them to kick you out of this building." The salesman warned angrily.
"It's not a slander if I'm stating facts though, right?" Ye Fan scorned, "You guys advertise this face wash product of yours as a premium product that keeps skins hydrated, reduces wrinkles, and even enhances the skin's softness. Yet, when I checked the ingredients you guys use on the back and opened one of the bottles up to smell it, I can immediately tell that the ingredients you're using aren't the ones labled in the back, and are in fact are using ingredients highly toxic to the skin."
"How dare you make such bold claims! I've had it enough with you! Security!"
Upon calling out for security, about a couple of security guards came out of their control room and forced themselves through the crowd.
"What seems to be the problem here?" One of the guards asked the salesman.
"This guy has been falsely accusing and slandering the company I work for of unethical business practice for a couple of minutes now with no signs of stopping whatsoever! I suspect that he got into this trade show uninvited and just wants to cause trouble for the sake of it. Please do something about this!" The salemans pointed his finger at Ye Fan and stated.
"Is this true, sir?" The guard turned to Ye Fan.
"The part about me coming here uninvited is absolutely not true, but I'm not lying when I say that the face wash product they're advertising is harmful to the skin. I can show proof if you guys want." Ye Fan wasn't scared of these security guards at all and offered.
"No! I don't consent to him testing the pro-" Before the salesman could nervously finish out his sentence, the guards interrupted him.
"Sir, for the safety of the attendees who may want to purchase your product, we can't let such an accusation fly by so easily. So please cooperate with us for now and remain calm until we can verify the authenticity of the product." The guard then swiftly took the bottle from the exhibition stand and handed it to Ye Fan, "If you can prove that the face wash product the company is selling is indeed harmful, then the State Administration for Market Regulation will deal with the company properly, otherwise we'll make sure that you will thoroughly face the consequences of your actions."
Ye Fan nodded at the guard's words and took the face wash bottle confidently.
Afterwards, he unscrewed the cap of the face wash and took one of the silk handkerchief on display at a nearby stand.
"Before I demonstrate this, let me explain something first. Silk is one of the most delicate fabrics in the world, and they contain protein like the human skin does. As such, it can easily be damaged by harsh chemicals."
Ye Fan paused for a second as he poured a small amount of the face wash onto the silk handkerchief and gently rubbed it in before continuing, "And if this face wash is indeed good and safe for the skin just as it claims to be, then it won't harm the silk this handkerchief is made out of, just like it shouldn't harm your skin. But if it's filled with harmful chemicals…"
Ye Fan didn't say anything else and allowed the crowd to watch as the silk began to warp and discolor.
Then once a whole minute has passed and the handkerchief was visibly frayed and deteriorated...
"This is what happens." Ye Fan held up the handkerchief for everyone to see.
Everyone in the whole crowd couldn't help but gasp.
This was absolutely an eye opener for all of them.
After all, most, if not all, uses face washes on a daily basis as part of their hygiene, and they had never once questioned if it was detrimental to their skins or not.
But now that they have seen that a face wash can harm their skin, they were all worried about whether or not the face wash product they're using have harmful chemicals inside them as well.
Nevertheless, they were all extremely thankful to Ye Fan for revealing this to them, and the trade show errupted with applauses.
"Whooo, you rock!"
"Seriously, you're the best!"
As the attendees showered Ye Fan with all kinds of praises, his expression turned smug, and he turned over to the salesman proudly.
Unfortunately Ye Fan couldn't fully see the pathetic face that the salesman currently was making as the security guards had already begun dragging the salesman and all of his other co-workers out of the venue.
But Ye Fan didn't really care about the faces they were making anyways as he was focused on something else entirely.
To be more specific, he was staring at the direction of where the largest exhibition stand in the trade show was located.
That's right, this whole stunt that he had pulled off just now wasn't simply because he wanted to warn to the public about the existence of toxic face washes.
It was to actually let the attendees in the venue here talk fondly about him and spread his 'acts of altruism' over to the woman that he had his eyes on...
Luna Xuan.
Ronald, who had witness this entire thing play out and saw the direction that Ye Fan was looking at, couldn't help but become amused.
Considering how he knew how cunning Ye Fan was, Ronald definitely knew that he did all of this just to impress Luna.
And to be honest, this was absolutely a great thing for Ronald.
After all, this confirmed to him that Ye Fan was definitely still the same as he was in the original novel, and that he'll go up and talk to Luna eventually.
This means that Ronald can actually continue on with the plot sooner or later, get face slapped by Ye Fan, and then finally complete the first plot again in this life.
'Let's go, the plot's finally back on track.'
