His sudden anger leaves Livia at a loss for words. It is a while before she speaks again. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you were romantically involved with Ms Newland," she starts cautiously. "I honestly meant that I hoped you were paying her well given that this seemed like it was way beyond the normal duties of a secretary."
"Really?"
"Yes."
Raylen seems to loosen up a little. "Alright then. I am sorry too. I should not have accused you of insinuating that. I let my temper get the better of me."
Livia merely lowers her head slightly to indicate that she has accepted his apology.
