Anna's POV
I watch his expression change from confusion to hurt.
He stared at me in total silence.
"Marry him?
How?, I do not understand ".
He asked, chuckling.
"Our parents called us together and his father brought a document for us to sign and our marriage would become legal. The wedding ceremony was supposed to be a few days after Dad's election." I rushed all the words out at once.
His eyes widened as he took in everything I just said.
I'm not supposed to say it this way.
"I do not have any interest in him but I had no choice but to-
"Were you threatened?".
"No-
"I want the truth Anna, that's the only way I can deal with this".
"He did not," I replied.
His brows dipped at my response.
He must not find out the truth.
"I agreed to get married to him and I want to inform you so that you won't be shocked when you find out".
"Alright" he replied with a faint smile.
