Beverly resumed work very early the following day.
She was on a morning shift.
She and Maze haven't seen each other for a couple of days now but still kept in touch.
Beverly was walking out of a patient room when Maze met her by the door.
"What the hell is wrong with you?
I have been trying to talk to you since morning but you were just out of it" Maze asked with a tinge of worry in her voice.
"I'm fine," Beverly replied.
"Bev, we both know you are not. So spill it" Maze stood in front of her stopping her from walking away.
The sight of her friend scrutinizing eyes made her crumble.
"Are you ready to tell me?" Maze asked, Beverly merely nodded.
Looking around to make sure they were not caught slacking, Maze drew her into the locker room.
"What's going on?" She asked as soon as they were alone.
"Ethan is back" She replied after a little pause, contemplating on how to explain.
