Chapter 69 - Peras

『Eons ago』

The air in the Underworld was thick with the stench of sulfur and blood, the ever-present echoes of tormented souls rising like an endless wail. The vast chamber in which the Demon King sat was a blackened cavern, walls jagged with obsidian spires that rose like the teeth of some enormous, ancient beast. Flickering fires cast a sickly glow over the scene, shadows twisting and dancing in unnatural ways, like the specters of fallen warriors.

The throne of the Demon King, a massive structure of dark iron and bone, loomed in the center of the room. Upon it sat the ruler of all demons, his appearance an unsettling amalgamation of terror. His towering form was cloaked in darkness, his wings blacker than night, his eyes twin pits of burning red. His claws scraped the obsidian armrests, leaving a trail of ash in their wake. His horns spiraled from his head like a crown of evil, each curve sharp enough to pierce the heavens themselves.
