Chapter 50 - Mazuka meet Aiden

I took a deep breath, feeling a thousand questions rise to the surface, but one seemed most urgent.

"So... true demons aren't all evil then?" I asked, hoping that maybe, somehow, there was more to him than the darkness surrounding us.

Moros—or rather, my own face wearing that unsettling expression—wrinkled his brows, looking as if I'd insulted him. "What!? Of course, we are!" he scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain. "Don't insult me, Aiden. We revel in chaos. It's what we are."

There was a flicker of dark amusement in his eyes as he continued, almost playfully. "Your precious Xedeth, in particular, doesn't matter much to me." He grinned, watching me carefully for a reaction. "However, he does possess something valuable—a little trinket that might help me escape this place."

I tensed, anger brewing in the pit of my stomach. "What trinket?"
