"Of course not!" Sonia was overcome with emotions.
"In every circumstance, good or bad I choose you my best friend," she couldn't resist the great depth of feelings, " just that, cheating in a relationship was not a good idea... frankly."
"Love you best friend," Nadia felt charged.
"..... and, insisting on dating a married man," Sonia shook the head, " it's like cutting finger nails in darkness; a risky mistake Nadia _ you need to rethink!"
"I thought about it times without number but unfortunately, the mistake kept haunting me!" Looking worrisome, Nadia's eyes lingered around and she put her little finger nail on her teeth, reflecting.
Nadia turned and faced the window, "I have too much interest in this dude Sonia. And If it's going to require me to loose everything including my pride to keep him, come what may," she spoke with high determination.
Sonia grabbed Nadia's hand and pulled her to turn, "Don't speak so arrogantly like that, please!" But all Sonia's efforts seemed to go in vain, Nadia could stop at nothing to follow desires of her heart.
"As my best friend, this is the time I need your shoulder to lean on, stand ten toes in for me with your full support, please!"
"Me, support you, hell No!" Sonia turned and faced away, strongly refusing.
Suddenly, a hunger and desperation ghost possessed Nadia. She walked close to Sonia and opened her eyes widely, "I need this man Sonia; yes, I admit am desperate sometimes, "calmly she said, "especially when I have no proof of a man in life, but please, sympathize with the obvious fact that your best friend's appetite for a romance patner is high _ can't handle to live a single life for a week!"
"It seems we're making two weeks ever since Marlon stopped visiting you...," Sonia teased her, replying with the same fire, but of course Nadia, with her incredible knack for improvisation, she knew how to stir the soup up.
"That's why I'm dying of starvation, don't you see?" She made a sorry face, "I feel my body rusting Sonia, and the only fish in my net at the moment is Bob Lee!"
"Wait, who?" Inquisitively, Sonia got her face frowned confoundedly to another shocking suprise, "I I've not heard the name so well!!!" she stuttered.
Face written on a little guilt, "Yes, the honourable wedding you're from attending, that is the married man in question."
"It can't be!" Sonia blurted a sigh in disbelief.
"And please, don't try to nail me because I'm not giving him up," Using her thumb, Nadia cleared a rolling tear off her left eye as she sniffed.
At the moment she had no secret left to keep, she skipped a bit and said, "I'm not ready to start afresh with any stranger."
Gazing in total disbelief, Sonia sighed more. At white heat, she quietly sat down on a sofa and gestured sorrily, glancing up at her face, right beside her, standing.
"You know you're too stubborn, right?" Sonia told her straight in the eyes, sighed and faced away in jumble.
Nodding and smiling, "sometimes I wonder how you manage to spend weeks, months _ if am not mistaken a year goes down the road without a deep voice speaking in your ears like, 'you know you beautiful; get my shoes', instructing," acting funny in Sonia's face, Nadia imitated men's deep voice.
"And you think I'm happy to be lonely?"
"Oh, you mean, your nature demands too?"
"Gosh, what do you think I am, a log?"
"Hahaha, sorry... thought you didn't know cuddling maintains health," Playfully Nadia Browne jumped in a space beside Sonia on the sofa.
Sitting shoulder to shoulder, "come to think of it Sonia, my romance with a wealthy young man like Bob Lee can actually benefit both of us," talkatively, in a bid to win Sonia's support and sympathy, Nadia said.
For the first time, Sonia became speechless around her best friend.
Suddenly, aware of Sonia's disturbed and uneasy gaze, Nadia became self-conscious and uncomfortable, "Um, can I use your bathroom?" She calmed down.
"The bathroom is around the corner," apathy depicting in her voice, Sonia nodded to the left.
From home to the shopping markets, to the park for amusement, to the wild life centers for the love of wild life, then to the museums to educate herself much more on preserved cultural heritage, and then back home to her extensively caring mother in law.
Ishtar seemed the happiest walking hand in hand with her husband Bob Lee. A three days honeymoon was amazingly well spent and life had began to go on smoothly with Ishtar as a married young lady.
Her two major wishes in life were fulfilled and she had started harvesting fruits of her good deeds, living a life of a queen she desired and deserved in her favorite man's hands.
A week settled in after the wedding.
In her newly bought luxury automobile SUV, Ishtar arrived at the care centre where her beloved sick mother received rehabilitation therapies, to pay her a visit.
Ishtar's driver was non other than the private investigator, assigned on duty by her mother in law to drive her anywhere she felt going to.
"You always cried about how you were going to provide the best of life for me in your poor job, a house maid who didn't know any of your relatives... but mom, am glad to tell you today that you actually did it," Ishtar, on joyful tears spoke to her disabled mother.
On a wheelchair, with one side of the body dropped, troubled with understanding simple things, Ishtar's mother had memory issues to even analyze what her daughter was talking about.
However, Ishtar was familiar with her mom's condition. All she did was to continue telling her stories about how life has been so kind to her, blessed her with every single wish she ever made.
"Your daughter here is pregnant with twins, married to a man she loves and lucky that both the man and mother in law take good care of me... your daughter is so happy and thankful," as she slided her around in a wheelchair.
Ishtar always spared ample time to pay a visit to her mother and share a fortune with her.
On a Monday evening, only two weeks in a happy marriage, Bob Lee opens the door to her new personal secretary's office.
It being Sonia's first day in office, "Hey Sonia, did you love the office and the new car?"
Panicking, in a spirit of submission, Sonia stood up quickly to show muximum respect, "yes sir, thank you very much sir!"
"You'll have to keep this office for a very long time from today; just relax, feel at home and don't hesitate to talk to me about anything _ be it personal, you're welcome," hospitably with pleasure, Bob Lee accepted Sonia.
"I wanted to thank you for the health deposit I recieved in my bank account... You blessed me before even working a day!"
"Oh, it's your duties that are most welcome _ as my personal secretary, your face has to be glowing and smiling shiny each and everyday you report to perform administrative duties."
"Thank you sir," the smile on Sonia's cheeks when Bob Lee closed that door infront of him could move a mountain.
Bob Lee continued to the parking lot towards his two seater automobile. As he was nearer, a few steps away to approach it, he recieved a text message on his phone.
Since he was already holding the phone in hand, it was a matter of bringing it at a right angle and take a glance.
"I miss you. Cooper Road, Block One White apartments; Door 13G. My address just in case _ Nadia," the text message read.
Bob Lee smelt a rat. This got him holding on to take another step forward. In dilemma he sighed, feeling a raise in hormone secretion which stimulated some of his body organs.
"Nadia Browne, why are you doing this to my body," so caught up in the sea of temptation, he asked in mind.
Hiding an erection, in a hurry he walked the remaining steps, quickly grabbed his car door handle open and sat inside, "I can't accept this," speaking from the deepest part of his feelings.
Vulnerably, at a crush speed, Bob Lee ignited and accelerated the car out of the parking lot and hit the evening road.
Busy in the kitchen with her mother in law having a conversation full of laughter, Ishtar was carrying a dish of strawberries when her mobile phone rang.
Still drowned in a conversation, she placed the dish on a kitchen island to see who was reaching out to her at 7pm.
"If not your husband who else?" Her mother in law stated.
"Gosh, you're right!" Ishtar told her mother in law immediately she saw the caller ID.
Only for mother to smile, creating a room for her to answer the call and hear what Bob Lee had to say.
"Hello...!" Ishtar responded.
"Honey, how's our babies doing right inside there? Are they fighting for space already?" The deep caring voice lighted a smile on her face.
Mother in law glanced right at daughter in law who seemed very happy. She proudly shook her head and resumed cooking.
"I'm speechless," what did Ishtar have to say apart from blushing.
"Alright, just called to borrow two more hours from you," Bob Lee was romantic enough to drive his wife more crazy, "at 9 o'clock am fully in your arms."
"I will be waiting," all Ishtar needed was his happiness.
