The morning went by quickly, and quite painfully. Madam Deanna had no filter and berated both Veronica and Michael whenever they made the slightest mistake.
Veronica was a bit better off, since she spent a few years in a noble household, but as Madam Deanna said, "Your previous tutor was pathetic to think you were ever well-acquainted with the noble etiquette!"
For Michael, it was much worse. He had no prior education about how to act as a rich person, so Madam Deanna found even more glee when she could correct his every mistake.
Overall, the three hours felt like pulling teeth, but they couldn't argue with the results.
Madam Deanna might be an old hag, but her knowledge about nobility was nothing to scoff at.
Her critiques also seemed harsh most times, but it did a great job of making them afraid.
After getting shamed for a minute straight by not holding a fork at the exact angle, you quickly learn not to make the same mistake twice.
