By their current plan, they were going to stay in the Serene Viola, and see what they could do to help the maids and other workers who were mistreated.
For this, though, they would need the help of someone who knows everything about the establishment. They weren't sure if Krista would help them, but it was worth a try.
That's why they unpacked during the night. It mattered little for either of them, since they were planning to tell part of the truth to Krista, anyway.
Veronica let Michael lead the talk. She still remembered the first time they spoke about the supernatural. He was experienced in talks similar to hers, so she just sat silently and sipped the tasty tea.
