The king felt that Jason had suddenly stuffed something into his mouth. While he couldn't speak now, the foul odor was unmistakable. What was this?
In the next second, the king saw Jason put his right foot back into the shoe. In other words, there was a high probability that the thing in his mouth was one of Jason's stinky socks.
The majestic king, who was used to rich clothes and fine food—each dish carefully crafted by chefs—found the current situation unthinkable. The very idea of something even slightly unappetizing would typically lead him to spit it out immediately.
Now someone had stuffed a stinky sock into his mouth.
What an unimaginable humiliation!
"@#.....#¥!"
Having lost all patience, the king didn't even know what he was yelling, but he was like a fish desperately floundering on a shore, trying to escape Jason's grasp.
But Jason's iron grip was unyielding, maintaining a firm hold on the king's hair.
The more the king struggled, the more his scalp hurt—after all, hair is connected to the scalp. Soon, he abandoned the idea of escape, feeling resigned to his fate.
Until a group of patrolling soldiers appeared not far away.
Like a king finding his savior, he hurriedly cast a look for help.
"Master Shield Hero, are you still walking here at night?"
Seeing the Shield Hero approaching, the patrolling soldiers hurriedly stopped, lowered their heads, and greeted him respectfully.
"I'm not so leisurely, I'm heading to the conference hall now."
Jason nodded with a smile, appreciating the soldiers' politeness, so he didn't trouble them.
"¥#.....#@!"
The king, unable to speak clearly due to the sock, desperately appealed to the soldiers for help. However, the soldiers acted as if they didn't see him at all.
"So that's it, please go ahead. We still have the task of patrolling, so we'll be on our way," they said before walking away, not even looking back.
Seeing this, the king was filled with doubt: Could it be they really can't see me? Am I invisible?
Jason continued through the palace with a smile playing on his lips.
Once Jason and the king were out of sight, the patrolling soldiers began to talk amongst themselves.
"Did you see that? The person dragged by Lord Shield Hero seemed to be His Majesty the King."
"It's not just seemed—it was His Majesty the King."
"Then why did you signal us to ignore it?"
"Are you crazy? Remember what happened at the celebration banquet? Over 100 elite soldiers were easily taken down by Sir Shield Hero. If we attempted to rescue His Majesty, would we not be courting death? It's better to say we saw nothing. When the king asks, we simply say we didn't see anything."
"The captain is truly wise."
"Simple wisdom, but did you notice? I didn't expect His Majesty's to be so small."
"Hahaha..."
"Don't let this fool you. That's His Majesty we're talking about. We're professionally trained—hold it in, don't laugh...ah, haha..."
Hearing this, the soldiers burst into laughter, no longer able to contain themselves.
Meanwhile, Jason continued to drag the king around the palace, deliberately avoiding the conference hall.
It wasn't long before they'd circled the entire palace. They had encountered many people, but much like the clever soldier captain, everyone simply ignored the king's plight.
This circumstance eventually convinced the king that he might actually be invisible.
Until he overheard a conversation from around the corner.
"Did you hear? Lord Shield Hero is dragging His Majesty the King around the palace."
"How could we not? Shield Hero has made several rounds, and now everyone probably knows."
"Yes, everyone is now discussing His Majesty's... condition."
"Indeed, there's great sympathy for Her Majesty the Queen."
The voices and chatter got progressively distant and faded away, clearly the discussants were moving on.
But that wasn't important now. What mattered was that the king heard every word.
His condition too small?
Everyone knows?
And they sympathize with Her Majesty the Queen?
A flood of rage overcame him, and finally, as blood surged up with the sock, he spat it out of his mouth, fainting from sheer anger.
"Did you faint just like that? So fragile. Well, my goal is accomplished, and it does relieve quite a bit of anger," Jason murmured and continued dragging the unconscious king along.
This time, he didn't wander anymore. He went directly to the front of the conference hall and pushed open the heavy doors.
Due to an earlier commotion, the filth left behind had been difficult to clean. The table food and other items had already been removed, though several soldiers were still attempting to clean the floor.
Seeing Jason dragging the king in, they hastily paused and lowered their heads.
"Master Shield Hero!"
"Hey, isn't this His Majesty the King? What happened?"
The memory of Jason effortlessly overpowering hundreds of elite soldiers was fresh, thus they dared not show any disrespect. Even noticing the king's embarrassing state, they inquired cautiously.
"You don't need to worry about the king. Now... bring Motoyasu, Ren, and Itsuki here!"
Jason didn't bother with further conversation and issued a straightforward command.
"But the three heroes were injured by you earlier and are now undergoing treatment and recuperation. It might be difficult to bring them here right away." The soldiers glanced at each other, uncertain and visibly uneasy about the situation.
"Then bring more people and carry them over to me." Jason's voice took on a colder tone, marked by a commanding presence.
"Is...isn't that a bit inappropriate?" The soldiers asked with marked embarrassment. After all, whether it was Motoyasu or Ren, they were brave men, and they themselves were merely low-ranking soldiers.
"So... do you think you've lived long enough?" Jason threatened.
"Yes! We'll fetch them immediately." Succumbing under Jason's murderous gaze, the soldiers dashed off without a moment's hesitation.
"Assembly, Master Shield Hero has issued an order! If you're free, come help immediately!" They yelled as they ran.
Soon, more soldiers gathered. Despite the late hour, many were still on patrol and scrambled over upon hearing Jason's orders. None wanted to incur the wrath of Jason and risk their lives.
Once they congregated about 50 soldiers in total, they proceeded to the current location of the three brave men.
Since Motoyasu, Ren, and Itsuki had been knocked out cold by Jason earlier, they were housed inside the palace for rest and treatment.
It was only a short distance, and the soldiers soon reached the first target: the room where Motoyasu was resting.
The door was subjected to a vigorous knock.
