"Uh, weren't you going to pick flowers? I got worried that grandma might be waiting for too long, so I came to check in on her first," the man said softly.
"Oh, big brother, you're so kind, but how is grandma's health? Why did she go out? And why are you on grandma's bed?" Red Cloak asked with some concern.
"She's much better now. I got tired waiting for you and fell asleep," the man reassured her, patting Red Cloak's back soothingly.
Mu Ying took a step back quietly, feeling a chill. There wasn't a wolf dressed as a grandma like in the stories, but there was a strange, sleazy man.
Red Cloak was no real child, otherwise her mother wouldn't have let her go to the forest alone. She was a young girl, nearly Mu Ying's age. This man's actions, patting her back, were a bit too intimate.
"Red Cloak, what's this man's name?" Mu Ying asked.
