The faint buzz of her phone on the table broke Diara's train of thought. She glanced at the screen and saw Raymond's name flashing. Picking up, she answered, "Hello?"
"I'm outside your house," Raymond's voice came through, warm and playful. "Throw on something nice. I'm taking you somewhere."
Diara chuckled softly, shaking her head. "You and your surprises," she teased.
"Just hurry up. I don't like to be kept waiting," he replied mock-sternly before hanging up.
Smiling to herself, Diara stood and made her way to her room. She rifled through her modest wardrobe, settling on a simple floral dress that flared slightly at the knees.
She didn't own many glamorous outfits, most of her focus had been on practical clothes, but she knew she'd make her own stunning dresses soon enough.
With a quick brush of her hair and a dab of lip gloss, she slipped on a pair of flats and stepped outside.
