Kellan stepped into the room, the soft thud of his suitcase hitting the floor echoing in the stillness. His eyes, sharp and searching, swept over the room's dim interior.
The once warm space now felt cold, devoid of life and presence. His chest tightened, pulse quickening as his gaze failed to find the one person he sought.
Diara wasn't there.
His face darkened, the shadows deepening in his expression as anger churned beneath the surface. His jaw clenched, and without another thought, he stormed out of the room, his heavy footsteps reverberating down the hall.
Reaching the top of the stairs, he halted and glanced down, catching sight of his mother and sister below. They were engrossed in some trivial task, unaware of the storm brewing just above them.
"Where is she?" His voice cut through the air like a blade, cold and distant, almost devoid of humanity.
