The Surprise
I woke up early, her thoughts swirling in my mind, and decided to invite her to lunch.
"Hey, what do you think about meeting up?" I proposed to her. "Sure! Where do you want to go?" she asked back. "It's up to you! I'm still exploring Indonesia," I confessed with a laugh.
"Okay! How about we meet at Havana's Restaurant? It's just a ten-minute walk from the resort where we met yesterday," she suggested.
"That sounds perfect!" I replied, my enthusiasm overflowing. I stepped out of my room to tell my parents the good news. "Mom, Dad, I'm heading to the beach for a bit, alright?" I informed them.
"Alright, be safe," they responded, and I hurried back to my room to get ready. I hopped into a cab and soon arrived at Havana's Restaurant, spotting her sitting on a bench.
She looked absolutely stunning as always. Her eyeliner was flawlessly done, and that blueberry-colored shirt suited her perfectly. She resembled an angel in that outfit.
The way she walked in her heels was quite captivating.
She complimented me, saying I looked handsome in my black suit. We entered the restaurant and began searching for a table.
The moment the manager approached, I was taken aback to discover that he was her brother. She had mentioned that Havana's Restaurant belonged to a relative, but I never imagined it would be him. A wave of fear and shock washed over me as I realized I was being introduced to her sibling. Earlier, she had confided in me that she had told him about my confrontation with her ex, and he suggested inviting him to the restaurant to meet me and express his gratitude. "So, you must be Arjun," he said as we settled into a cozy spot he had arranged for us. "Yeah," I managed to reply. "Don't worry, we're friends here... no need to be scared. I know quite a bit about you; she's mentioned you often when I asked," he continued, and I noticed Novita's cheeks flush a deep pink as she tried to hide her face. "Just take care of this silly girl. She can be a bit reckless and lazy at times, but her heart is as sweet and beautiful as sugar," he added with a grin. "I'll make sure she's happy," I said, my voice wavering slightly. "What would you like to eat?" he inquired. "Anything that Novita enjoys," I replied. "Got it," he said with a smile. In just half an hour, we devoured burgers and pizzas, my personal favorites. After leaving the restaurant, we shared a kiss before I headed to my hotel, while she had to return home for some errands. I waved goodbye, unaware that it would be our final meeting… Everything fell apart in an instant. I couldn't understand why. Then she called to say she wanted to break up… My heart shattered into countless pieces. It felt as if every organ had been ripped from my body. I was utterly broken, wishing for nothing more than to disappear after hearing those words. Yet, I managed to respond, asking if this was truly what she wanted after all the wonderful moments we had shared.
