Qi Yu watched as Li Mingjue appeared confident and untroubled, so she didn't worry herself; after all, if the sky were to fall, Prince Qiu would hold it up for her.
She followed behind Li Mingjue, and together they walked out of the gloomy tomb.
Perhaps the noise of the door alarmed the people outside, the soldiers who had been deeply asleep gradually woke up and, caught off guard, they screamed upon seeing Prince Qiu and his wife whom they believed should be lying in the tomb: "Ghosts, there are ghosts!"
The ear-splitting call shook the entire tomb, and soon, Qi Yu and Li Mingjue were surrounded by a group of soldiers wielding torches.
"Prince…" The leading tomb guard, too, was crazed, his pupils dilated in utter shock, as if he had seen a ghost.
Wasn't it just like seeing a ghost?
Who could have imagined that people who had been buried could still walk out of the tomb alive.
Li Mingjue subtly furrowed his brow, clearly uneasy in such a noisy atmosphere.
He spoke lightly, instructing, "Let it be known by my decree, 'The Princess's blessings descended from heaven and cured me.'"
Qi Yu couldn't help but glance at him, noting how easily the lies flowed from his mouth.
"Yes… yes."
Soon, the word spread throughout the entire Imperial Palace, and when Emperor Li Tianze heard the news, he was both joyful and anxious, but still stood at the city gates waiting with a flicker of hope.
When Li Mingjue's figure appeared, Li Tianze was already in tears, crying, "My son's life was not meant to end, not meant to end!"
Qi Yu saw clearly, aside from this Emperor, everyone else looked at Li Mingjue as if they had seen a ghost, with the Empress beside him turning ashen and clenching her hands tightly.
Li Tianze had the Imperial Physician carefully check Li Mingjue, and only after confirming he truly had come back to life, did he breathe a sigh of relief.
When his gaze shifted to Qi Yu, his expression paused.
Initially, he had just wanted to quickly find someone to marry into the Prince Qiu Residence; he hadn't expected Qi Yu to have such fortune, causing him to look at her again.
But upon seeing her face clearly, he furrowed his brows harshly.
What kind of monster is this?
Her face was like a palette, blotches of red and black.
Initially, he was not very satisfied with this Princess either, since Qi Yu, although the daughter of the Prime Minister, was just a concubine and by status, did not match Prince Qiu.
But she had saved his imperial son, so the reward he owed was still to be given.
After Prince Qiu gets better, he can just look for another princess.
"The Princess really is a person of deep fortune, it seems the Prime Minister did not deceive me. Someone, give a grand reward!"
A hint of irony passed through Qi Yu's eyes; this was her own doing, not the blessings of the Prime Minister Residence.
A father who could push his own daughter into a pit of fire was better off not having.
After a night's conversation, Qi Yu finally returned to the Prince Qiu Residence with Li Mingjue.
The butler, Li Bo, seeing the living Prince standing before him, couldn't help but have his eyes well up with tears, and quickly ordered the servants to take down the mourning banners hanging around the residence.
He showed even more respect towards Qi Yu.
The Princess might be a bit simple, but simpletons have their own simple blessings.
"Prince, the Princess should…" At the dining table, while Qi Yu was happily eating, Li Bo looked somewhat troubled as he sought instructions from Li Mingjue.
Li Mingjue clearly understood his meaning and immediately refused, "No need, let the Princess stay in the separate courtyard."
Li Bo hesitated, looked at Qi Yu who was busy gnawing on a chicken leg, sighed, and had someone make the arrangements.
Why was the Prince so uncooperative?
After all, she was his Princess; they should be closer to each other.
"Are you done eating?" Li Mingjue frowned as he watched Qi Yu's crude manners.
Qi Yu, enjoying her meal immensely, decisively shook her head, "Not at all, I could eat a whole cow right now."
Since her time travel to this point, she didn't know how long it had been, but she was nearly starving.
Not to mention, the chef at Prince Qiu Residence really had some impressive skills.
As Qi Yu gnawed on a chicken leg and her eyes sparkled, she thought that she was in for some good meals in the future.
Hearing this, Li Mingjue couldn't be bothered with her anymore and was about to leave when Qi Yu grabbed his sleeve with her greasy hand.
"What is it?" Li Mingjue's brows twitched as he held back his irritation.
Looking up at him, Qi Yu wiped the grease from her mouth and asked with anticipation, "Are there any benefits to being your Princess?"
"Like what?"
"Nothing much, just using the title of Princess to torment some scum and slap some faces."
"..." Li Mingjue paused for a moment before replying, "According to the laws of Dazhao, female relatives of court officials who are of lower rank than this Prince must kneel before you."
Qi Yu's eyes brightened. The Qi Family probably never imagined that there would come a day when they would have to kneel before the person they deemed worthless.
Indeed, a high position crushes the mighty.
Just thinking about the faces of the Qi Family members, especially Qi Anran who always tried to overshadow her, looking helpless and angry, Qi Yu felt a wave of satisfaction.
"Anything else?" Li Mingjue could not help but pull his sleeve from her dirty hand and looked down at the gleaming-eyed woman.
"No, that's all," Qi Yu waved her hand, then looked up mischievously and said, "But I should remind you, the poison has not been completely cleared from your body. It is not suitable for you to bathe or change clothes right now."
Li Mingjue simply replied, "I know."
After that, he walked away without looking back, his figure seemingly clenching his teeth in frustration.
After eating her fill, Qi Yu planned to return to her residence for a nap when suddenly, a black shadow flashed in front of her.
Her eyes widened in surprise as she watched the shadow disappear from her field of vision.
Could this be the legendary Hidden Guard?
Interesting, she would ask Li Mingjue to lend her a couple to play with another day.
After bustling around for most of the night, Qi Yu slept soundly untill well into the morning.
It wasn't until she heard a rapid knocking at the door that she unwillingly opened her eyes.
She straightened her clothes and just as she opened the door, an angry, unfamiliar face suddenly appeared before her.
Qi Yu looked bewildered at the woman, and the next second, the woman tried to slap her.
With quick reflexes, Qi Yu dodged; the woman, failing to hit her, glared at her furiously.
"You should have died in that tomb, who let you come back!"
Qi Yu's expression turned cold, and she finally recognized the hostile woman.
This was none other than Hong Xing, the maid sent by Qi Wei as part of her dowry, who frequently bullied her by taking advantage of the original owner's weak mind, often beating and scolding her, making others think she was the master.
A cold sneer crossed Qi Yu's mind; she planned to slowly return every insult and injury inflicted on the original owner by those who had bullied her.
However, dealing with such people would only dirty her hands.
A sly look crossed Qi Yu's eyes; instantly, she was possessed by the dramatic spirit, feigning fear. She pretended to avoid confrontation but actually led the woman straight to Li Mingjue.
"Help, save me!"
