Shao He turned her head, a puzzled look on her face, to make sure he was not joking. She asked in a serious tone, "Has something happened? Why are you suddenly giving me a vacation?"
"I feel like you have never taken a break, and just recently my father's friend arrived in the Capital City. I plan to show him around and was afraid you wouldn't be able to handle everything here by yourself," Yun Qian explained, looking into her eyes.
Shao He looked at him for a long time and, seeing no signs of deceit, finally nodded, "Alright."
Yun Qian sighed in relief as she agreed and walked over to a chair to sit down, lifting his hand to pinch the corner of his eye.
On the way back, Shao He quickened her pace and upon reaching the corner, she saw a familiar carriage. She lifted the curtain and sat inside, her daily habit of hitching a ride.
