Chapter 4 - Chapter 004: Reversal

Overwhelmed by the newcomer's presence, it took a while for everyone in the room to regain their composure.

"Who are you?" Mrs. Xue shrieked.

"The guardian of Song Anjiu." He didn't disclose his real identity since she was still a student, and revealing it could negatively affect her.

"Perfect timing! What kind of education does the Song Family provide?"

Fu Chenshang didn't even address the woman's rant, but slightly leaned in to ask the person in his arms, "Anjiu, why did you hit someone?"

"..." She didn't want to speak, because no one would believe her even if she did; nobody would trust her.

"Answer," he demanded firmly.

"She hit them, isn't that clear? What else is there to ask?" Mrs. Xue interrupted, and wanted to continue but was stopped by Fu Chenshang's intimidating gaze.

"Speak," Fu Chenshang urged.

"...He bullied me first," Anjiu finally spoke up.

Jumping out excitedly, Mrs. Xue retorted, "What a joke! Only you bully others, who could bully you? Besides, it's our Haohao who's injured! Stop slandering!"

Fu Chenshang, without a change in his expression, continued to ask, "Where did it happen?"

"In the school parking lot."

Only then did Fu Chenshang look up satisfied, turning to the person in charge, "The parking lot has surveillance, retrieve the footage from that day!"

At this statement, everyone was stunned, including Song Anjiu herself.

Not only did others judge her without evidence, but she had become so accustomed to it that she never even considered proving her innocence.

"It seems I was not mistaken; you've condemned someone without clarifying the facts first. If things are as Anjiu says, I expect the school to publicly apologize to everyone on campus!"

My Anjiu...

Those four words shook Song Anjiu's heart intensely.

The vice principal, dean of instruction, and homeroom teacher were sweating bullets, worrying that if Anjiu hadn't lied, they would indeed be in trouble.

Mrs. Xue also felt a tinge of guilt, but hanging onto a sliver of hope since he hadn't sought trouble with her personally.

Amid the tension, someone came in hurriedly.

Upon entering, they offered smiles repeatedly, "Mr. Fu! Ah, how could we bother you personally with such a trivial matter? Rest assured, I will handle everything."

The person was Principal Shengjin, who usually stayed behind the scenes, allowing the vice principal to handle matters; unexpectedly, today he rushed over hastily.

Mrs. Xue, now looking at Fu Chenshang with a trace of fear, had sensed something extraordinary about this man from the start—could he really be someone of significant stature?

The guardian? This man didn't seem old at all...

Had she ever heard of such a person within the Song Family or Zhou Jingyi's circle?

"No need, since I'm here, let's resolve it now!" Fu Chenshang was clearly not interested in giving face, intent on pursuing the matter.

Watching his woman be bullied like this, how could he let them off easily?

In the end, the surveillance footage from the day was retrieved as Fu Chenshang demanded. In the video, Xue Hao blocked Anjiu's way, provocatively taunting several times. Anjiu ignored him, trying to get past, but Xue Hao wouldn't allow it and started to get physical. It wasn't until Xue Hao's hand reached her chest that Anjiu, unable to endure it any longer, responded with a knee thrust and fiercely slammed her bag into his face, followed by a flurry of punches and kicks...

An uncomfortable silence ensued for tens of seconds.

Fu Chenshang, holding Song Anjiu, stood up, "I hope the school can gather all the student's parents tomorrow to publicly clarify this matter."

The magnified response was clearly intended to embarrass Xue Hao.

"Criminal law stipulates that the age at which a citizen is fully accountable for criminal actions is 16 years old. The crime of defamation can result in imprisonment of up to three years, criminal detention, control, or deprivation of political rights. The crime of indecency can result in imprisonment of up to five years or criminal detention," Fu Chenshang stated calmly, his expression having remained frighteningly cold since watching the footage.

"What, what do you want to do? It's just kids fooling around; taking this to court is too much!" Mrs. Xue turned pale, having completely forgotten who was so eager to meet in court just moments ago.

"If you have anything to say, talk to my lawyer."

After saying this, Fu Chenshang turned to the teachers with a more amiable tone, "In this incident, our Anjiu was also at fault. If it weren't for her usual misbehaviour, the teachers wouldn't have misunderstood her. In the future, I hope you can continue to take good care of her."

"No, no, not at all! Student Song is actually very intelligent, just not very diligent. I believe that as long as she can focus on her studies, she will definitely achieve great things!" The principal, flattered, responded eagerly.

Knowing that this meant they would not pursue further action against the school, the principal visibly relaxed. He was well aware that even if Fu Chenshang didn't step back, with his protection, the school would absolutely not dare to mistreat Song Anjiu. But the fact that he made such a gesture showed that the girl held some significance to him.

Throughout the entire event, Song Anjiu simply stayed curled up in Fu Chenshang's arms, saying nothing, watching as he gave orders with precision, turning the tables completely, and pulling her out from the mire.
