Chapter 8 - Chapter 008 Anticipation

Anjiu Song lingered at the doorstep, hesitant to go in. Clenching her fists, she finally mustered up her courage. What was there to be afraid of? After all, she was known in this city as a notorious troublemaker, a delinquent, having dated enough boyfriends to circle Shengjin's track several times…

Having finally gathered the courage to go over, just as she thought about lying down, Fu Chenshang, without even raising his eyes, commanded, "Go get a towel to put on the pillow. Your hair has just been dyed and might stain it. Also, no eating on the bed from now on."

It was then that Anjiu noticed that the bedsheets, duvet, and pillows had all been changed.

She could already imagine how bleak her life ahead would be. She had felt something was off earlier and sure enough, this man turned out to be a freak about cleanliness!

"Fu Chenshang, perhaps we should consider living apart. Otherwise, it's not me killing you, it's you driving me to my death."

Without even considering it, Fu Chenshang skipped over her suggestion. "Get the towel," he demanded.

Anjiu, dragging her feet, went to the bathroom and fetched a dry towel, not forgetting to make a last-ditch effort. "Or how about we sleep in separate rooms? I don't exactly sleep well."

"If you behave, I might consider it."

"Ah? Really?"

She thought he would definitely refuse, but unexpectedly, there was a glimmer of hope. However...

"What exactly counts as behaving well? That's too vague!"

"No major mistakes in three months, and you can make a request," he specified.

"Any request?"

"Except for divorce."

"Ugh…" Her thoughts were easily seen through.

Anjiu pondered for a moment and felt this arrangement wasn't bad for her. Either way, there was finally something to look forward to.

"Alright, it's settled then," she agreed.

Hearing this, the corners of Fu Chenshang's lips slightly curved up. Pressing her too hard would only make her rebel more, so now was the right time to offer her some appealing bait to activate her motivation.

Although this girl appeared unruly and uncontrollable, her thoughts were naively transparent, everything written plainly on her face.

Anjiu reluctantly climbed up, not wanting to face him. However, exposing her back to the enemy was an even less desirable option. Weighing the options, she opted to lie on her back, her hands clutching the thin quilt, keeping a distance that was neither too close nor too far—he couldn't touch her, but she didn't appear too fearful.

Seeing her feigning ease while clearly resigned to her fate as she lay beside him, Fu Chenshang was amused as he raised an eyebrow.

Suddenly moving a bit, Anjiu's entire body tensed, and she quickly opened her eyes to glare at him, only to find that he wasn't even looking at her. She finally relaxed when she confirmed he was just changing positions.

Anjiu was on high alert, unable to relax for even a moment. From a young age, she had always slept alone, a necessity that became a habit so entrenched that she couldn't sleep with anyone else beside her.

The more she thought about it, the more dismal she felt. Shit! Three months of this—how was she supposed to get through it!

"If you can't sleep, read a book for a while."

Anjiu smacked her lips but didn't move.

Forget it! Compared to reading, she'd rather not sleep!

Fu Chenshang glanced at her, put the book on the bedside table, lay down on his side, and leaned over her. "Not into reading? Then let's do something else."

"What… what are you doing?"

"What do you think? You didn't expect I married you to be just for show, did you?"

"Fu Chenshang, isn't your taste supposed to be high?"

"So?"

"And you can stomach me like this?" Anjiu spoke indignantly, overcome with anger.
