In the beginning, she thought the worst outcome was just moving from one pit of fire to another.

She couldn't even figure out what she was thinking, happiness came so suddenly, making her feel as tense as a drawn bow, even more terrified than her previous circumstances. If you had once begged on the cold streets and one day were suddenly taken in by someone under a clearly perfunctory pretext, fed and pampered, could you eat and sleep easily? She could only feel that she was being fattened up for some sort of grotesque human experiment...

The feeling of facing unknown dangers, and the restlessness that bordered on insanity could not be shared with anyone.

What scared her more was that she was about to lose her defenses, gradually sinking into this dangerous warmth, becoming more and more uncontrollable, more and more anxious.
