Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Student Status

Su Nanzhi soon experienced the welcome of the large family toward her.

The living room was filled with people.

Mostly women and girls, along with some boys with youthful faces.

Before Su Nanzhi appeared, they were all talking and laughing happily.

However, upon seeing Zhang Yue, or rather, the girl following behind Zhang Yue, they abruptly stopped their conversation.

Clearly, Su Nanzhi's arrival also acted somewhat like a head teacher's role.

After a brief silence, Zhang Yue stepped forward and reported to the old lady sitting in the center, "Old lady, Miss Nanzhi has been brought here."

Su Nanzhi sensed the gazes on herself, curious or unfriendly, or perhaps mocking.

But she did not recognize any of these people.

She called her "Grandma" simply because Mrs. Su was visibly the oldest among the group.

"Nanzhi, come and sit here," the old lady gestured to Su Nanzhi.

As Su Nanzhi walked over to sit down, she observed Mrs. Su's facial features silently.

Due to her age, her cheekbones were higher than when she was young, making her appear more severe, with a bony nose, deep nasolabial folds, and horizontal forehead wrinkles.

This was not a good facial expression.

How bad it was depended on fate.

Mrs. Su did not like her granddaughter Su Nanzhi; she had three sons, and thus, naturally, was not short of grandchildren.

Moreover, she had never liked her second son's wife, and now, naturally, she would not favor the daughter of the second son's family.

Su Nanzhi had been raised outside the family for over a decade, how could she compete with other granddaughters who had been by her side since childhood?

Su Nanzhi looked at Mrs. Su, her eyes remarkably similar to those of her mother, who had passed away.

The sight made Mrs. Su's face turn cold instantly; she had originally opposed the second son marrying that woman, yet he had defiantly married her anyway, completely disregarding his mother.

Su Nanzhi's years of neglect from the outside world were not unrelated to Mrs. Su's indifference.

"You're back now, so settle down at home. Your uncle will transfer your school records back to Beijing City No.1 Middle School," Mrs. Su paused before continuing with a critical sweep over Su Nanzhi, "However, with your grades, there aren't many classes you can enter."

On another side, a girl in a purple dress snickered, "Grandma, why bother telling her that? Not everyone can achieve grades like Sister Yueyue."

Since Su Nanzhi didn't know anyone present, she quietly waited for this group of people to play out their drama, occasionally responding to help them carry on smoothly.

"Linlin, what nonsense are you talking?" Mrs. Su glanced at her and replied indifferently, "Apologize to your cousin."

The Su family had been somewhat careless naming the girls; their names all sounded repetitive.

The named girl pouted and muttered softly, "I was telling the truth, why should I apologize!"

Naturally, Su Nanzhi didn't hear her apology, and in fact, she didn't care about such details; everyone was watching to see if she would feel wronged by it.

If it hadn't been Linlin who spoke, perhaps it would have been another Miss Su.

Linlin was from the third branch, that is, the daughter of Su Nanzhi's third uncle.

Next to her was a woman, likely Su Nanzhi's third aunt.

She was smiling, ostensibly reprimanding her daughter, then waiting to see what kind of performance the daughter recently brought back by the second branch would exhibit.

Feeling it was about time, Su Nanzhi let a cryptic smile appear on her face, "Grandma, there's no need to trouble uncle about the school registration."
