The Zhou family had been in business for generations. During the turbulent times of war, Old Master Zhou Yanxi sent his eldest son Zhou Dabing to the army, while his second son Zhou Erbing was brutally killed by the Japanese army the following year.
Not wanting to hinder Zhou Dabing, Zhou Yanxi sold the family assets and, taking his spouse and youngest daughter Zhou Yanbing, moved to the port city. From then on, Zhou Dabing, without any family concerns back home, devoted himself wholeheartedly to the revolution.
The scholar-general Zhou Dabing, having faced death several times, established great military merits and was appreciated by the founders of the nation, becoming a member of their think tank. Thanks to this, the Zhou family faced minimal impacts during the unstable years.
Zhou Dabing is Zhou Mikang's grandfather and is now retired, enjoying his days of peace.
