"Hey, did you see the drama earlier where the wife tore into her husband?" Karen had somehow returned to the ballroom, apparently having rested enough.
Xia Lu nodded, "I saw it." She hadn't expected that at such gatherings, people would actually lose their minds over such matters. She had thought that women from high society might be much more composed than ordinary people, but now it seemed there wasn't much difference from the women who beat up mistresses on the streets—except that their clothes and shoes were more expensive and their figures and faces were more meticulously maintained. It seemed that at any level, the number of women who could handle such situations rationally were few and far between.
"Do you know who that Qiao Peiying, who was berating her husband just now, is?" Karen also ordered a drink and sat back down beside her.
