Elisa's pov
A tight smile glinted on my lips as I stood in front of the mirror wearing a slit red dress...it was quite revealing compared to my usual choice in dresses.
"I wonder how Kian will react?" My lips murmured, smiling alone like a fool.
Our second wedding anniversary, and I wanted to surprise him with a different look…something that he would prefer, and the red dress was exactly his type.
My hands even decorated the entire mansion with red balloons, roses, and scented candles.
The day was special.
"It's raining, he'll probably be late!" My soft tone whispered against the window in my bedroom.
Forest Hill was always unpredictable when it came to rain.
I waited, waited, and waited.
After two long hours, his car honk reached my ears and my feet rushed over to the glass window.
I peeked behind the red curtains.
"He's here!"
The pristine white SUV glided through the imposing gates of the grand mansion. With a smile on my face, I swiftly made my way out of my bedroom.
Each step I took down the gleaming staircase brought me closer to the spacious living area. As my feet touched the bottom stair, a maid opened the door before me.
"Take a deep breath, Elisa." I murmured to myself.
My eyes widened in disbelief as Kian entered, carrying my unconscious best friend in his arms, the weight of worry evident in his furrowed brow.
"MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!" His chest pushed my right shoulder, and he walked past me to one of the empty rooms, cradling her in his arms.
His white shirt was drenched in the rain.
My feet stepped into that room.
Mia was lying in bed whereas Ian was sitting next to her…holding her hand.
"What's going on?" My curious tone inquired, confused and concerned.
He turned his head to my presence at the door and glared into my eyes. His green eyes were fuming.
I was no stranger to that gaze but tonight, it was even more dangerous.
"Kian?"
He freed Mia's hand, got up from the bed, and walked over to me carrying that fuming rage in his eyes.
"What happened to her?"
"What is going on?"
"Should we call a doctor?"
His strong grip clutched my wrist and dragged me out of the room.
"Mia is pregnant." He said and closed the door behind him.
"Pregnant?" My brows furrowed.
"With my pup!" He didn't even hesitate.
As my mind reeled in shock for what felt like an eternity, I gradually regained my composure. Tears cascaded down my cheeks, and a few unruly strands of hair bristled at the nape of my neck, adding to the overwhelming emotional whirlwind.
"How could you sleep with my best fr-iend?" My voice trembled.
"Mia and I have been seeing each other for a year now, and we don't need your goddamn permission to sleep together." He admitted shamelessly.
No wonder my heart has been aching all year. Every time I told Mia about the pain, he'd just tell me to take some medicine and stop worrying about useless things.
"We're married, Kian!" My voice raised.
A thousand emotions brewing inside my chest started to cause a storm.
"She's my best friend…."
My heart was shattered into pieces and my voice was too fragile to even argue.
"Let's be real, Elisa."
"Our marriage was arranged by our families because you're my fated mate but I never loved you!"
Unlike others, I was unable to shift into my wolf form, which made me a target for ridicule within the pack. Despite my weakness, the Moon Goddess chose me as the fated mate for Kian Salvatore, Alpha of Crest Moon pack.
Kian's father was the only person who supported me in the pack and convinced Kian to marry me.
It was like a blessing.
I had loved Kian since we were pups, and my only dream was to become the perfect wife for him. However, Kian was against our marriage, and his coldness never changed.
After his father's passing, he finally decided to abandon me!
"Do you love Mia?"
"Yes, I love her more than anything." His deep voice answered bluntly.
"I want to marry her and raise our pup together." His words proudly flaunted his cheating in the name of love.
Kian never visited our bedroom after our vows, and no matter what I did, he ignored me. Even when I was sick in bed, he showed no concern. He never answered my calls and treated me like an abandoned ghost in his mansion.
I had only relied on Mia, who supported me through every difficult situation, only to betray my trust in the end.
The betrayal from my husband and my best friend took away the last of my dignity, leaving no room for forgiveness.
I clenched my fist.
"You made a fool out of me for two whole years, didn't you?" My eyes dried off as anger replaced tears.
"Does it matter?" He scoffed.
There was no guilt on his face.
Ignoring my question, he stepped back, pulled out some papers from his pants pocket, and threw them on my face.
My eyes flinched.
I grabbed the papers from my face, held them between my fingers, and saw the bold heading at the top…Divorce Agreement. Kian Salvatore already had his signature on the papers.
"Sign the divorce papers and get out of my mansion and my pack!" His deep voice growled as his fingers holding a blue pen moved toward me.
He destroyed every bit of my heart.
I seized the pen from his grasp and signed the divorce papers without hesitation as he watched me in silence.
There was no point in arguing anymore, as all limits had been crossed. It was time to make them experience the consequences of their actions.
It was the end of my one-sided love for Kian Salvatore.
Soon after signing the papers…
As my feet stepped outside the mansion, Kian slammed the door behind me as if he had been waiting for this moment.
I wish he had told me about his affair with Mia earlier, but I suppose he was waiting for his father's death.
My family would never take my side because Kian meant everything to them; he was the Alpha of our pack, after all.
Everything inside me was fuming.
As I thought about who could help me seek revenge on Kian Salvatore, only one person came to mind: Ian's sworn enemy, Tristan Presley, Alpha of Silver Crest pack.
I made my way towards Tristan's pack, determined to get what I wanted – revenge.
