Chereads / One Piece: A Plain Guy / Chapter 4 - First Island

Chapter 4 - First Island

When Ethan opened his eyes after a deep sleep, he saw Mihawk above him, trying to saw Ethan's neck with his sword, Yoru, but to no avail.

"...?"

Ethan blinked his eyes before gazing at Mihawk.

"Huff... huff... this can't be."

Mihawk growled as he breathed heavily.

"Are you a human even?!"

"...Like what the fuck man?"

Ethan groaned in annoyance.

"C'mon! I'm by literal means your captain now, and the first thing you do is to attempt a hideous assassination of killing me in my sleep? And people call you Hawkeye? Huh?!"

"...Fuck."

Cursing, Mihawk fastened his rate of sawing Ethan's neck with his Yoru.

Unable to hold on any longer, Ethan, out of anger, slammed his fist on Yoru's blade, and...

...the renowned black blade smashed into pieces.

Mihawk stood still with his jaw dropped all the way to the floor.

"M-MY YORU!!!"

"Shut up, pigeon."

Standing up, Ethan smacked Mihawk at the back of his head. Mihawk instantly fell and kissed the ground.

"...Uh, hey?"

Mihawk didn't respond to Ethan's call. Instead, the gloomy aura surrounded his self; Mihawk seemed to have entered the world of his own.

In the end, Ethan ended up scratching his head as he exited his room and walked up to the deck.

Stretching and smiling pleasantly under the bask of the sunlight, Ethan gazed at the horizon that was laid ahead, and...

"Oh?"

...found an island.

"Let's go! Finally, I can have something other than fish—"

Boom.

Suddenly, Ethan had a premonition—granted by his Observation Haki.

The ship that Ethan stood atop of shook, indicating a collision. Raising an eyebrow, Ethan turned.

"Kekekeke!"

It was a pirate ship filled with pirates.

Humming, Ethan turned around and saw that a pirate ship was rapidly approaching toward him.

Looking around, Ethan lifted a chair that was lying nearby and threw it toward said ship.

"Huh?"

On said pirate ship, one goon shouted,

"Captain! Something's on our way!"

"What?"

Taking over the binoculars, the supposed captain of the crew looked into it,

"...A chair? WEEHEEHEEHEE!!! Is this guy mental or what?!!"

Falling to the floor, he rolled in amusement, laughing out of his mind.

Then, the chair connected the ship, and the entire ship proceeded to explode into the oblivion.

The sea waves churned. The wind whistled wildly. The explosive noise was loud enough to be transmitted all the way to the island—which alerted the inhabitants.

"...Huh?"

Meanwhile, the captain now found himself at the sky along with his crew members, flying into who-know-where.

"HUHHHHH?!!"

And under the flying human beings, Ethan and his ship leisurely sailed by—toward the island ahead.

"And here it is! A land at last!"

Mihawk was yet to come out, which Ethan ignored. As soon as the beach was seen, Ethan jumped out of the ship and onto said beach, without even bothering to anchor the ship.

After all, he had no knowledge in this aspect.

"Alright! Then let's see what to do now—"

"Who are you?!"

And he found numerous guns pointed at his head.

"Eh?"

Ethan just realized that he was now surrounded by marines all around.

"THAT'S RIGHT!!!"

And from the back, someone cried. Everyone turned to the source of the voice and found Mihawk standing on the ship with tears running down from his eyes.

"H-Hawkeye?!!"

Marines cried in disbelief.

"What is going on?!!"

"AS A WARLORD, I ORDER YOU!!! KILL THIS NIG—"

Bang!

A gun was fired at Mihawk's way. It was by one of the marines who seemed angered by Mihawk's statement.

"I'm sorry, but you don't have the n-word pass."

"—HTMARISH BEING FOR ME!!!"

"...Oh."

Everyone turned to stare at the marine who just fired.

He was cut into two pieces.

They turned back to stare at Mihawk, who was back in his usual self, holding onto a small knife.

"..."

All the marines gulped, knowing that a single mistake may take their lives.

"By the way,"

Then, all of a sudden, Ethan spoke up, pointing his thumb at Mihawk,

"I'm his captain."

"...?"

"What? I'm speaking the truth?"

All the marines lowered their guns and shook their heads.

Ethan was confused.

"What are you doing?"

"There is no point in us raising our guard."

"This guy is just mentally ill. Not a threat."

"That explosion just before was probably done by... Mihawk-sama over there."

The marines walked away, leaving Ethan dumbfounded.

"H-Hey! Don't leave like that!"

In the end, only Ethan and Mihawk were left on the beach. And the two of them mumbled at the same time,

""...What the fuck?""
