Paul and Fei Fei started walking back to Anna but the young men arrived first.
-You filthy lowlife we told you to get lost from here.
One of the young men said maliciously and kicked the girl's wares to the street where his companions stepped on them.
-What the hell are you doing?
Anna Yelled at him seeing his actions.
-Don't tell me that you are interested in these rags.
The young man said with a sneer.
-I am so get lost.
Anna retorted.
She was no longer a girl that could be bullied easily and thanks to being mistreated she hated bullies the most.
Only after these words did the young man take a good look at her.
-Well beauty, why would you need these rags anyway?
He said with a lustful gaze.
-That is none of your business.
Anna said with anger.
-Don't be like that, why don't you come to have some fun with us.
The man asked and wanted to grab her hand but a moment later he was kneeling on the ground with a painful expression on his face.
Paul arrived just as the young man was about to grab Anna's hand so he grabbed the young man's hand and squeezed it making the sound of the breaking bones.
-Try that again and you will lose that hand.
Paul said menacingly after he let go of the man's hand.
Actually, Paul just saved the young man from exactly losing his hand as Anna already had one of her daggers in hand ready to teach the bastard a lesson.
But that would make a lot of trouble for them so he stepped in.
-Do you have any idea who I am?
The young man asked when his companions came to help him up.
-A dead man if you don't get out of my sight.
Paul said sending a murderous glare at the group of young men.
He didn't want to stir trouble but with all that already happened, it was too late now.
-Kill me if you dare.
The young man said.
He was sure that Paul was bluffing as the city had no killing rule.
Everyone who violated the rule would be executed.
Paul looked around and saw a guard patrol not far away.
-Guards!
He shouted and the patrol came to see what was going on.
-What is going on here?
The patrol commander asked once they arrived.
-This man tried to steal my slave and assaulted this girl.
Paul said before the dumbfounded young men could even react.
-This is a serious accusation, can you prove it?
The guard asked.
He knew the young men, they were all from rich families and they often stirred trouble.
This young lady can testify and if that is not enough I can order my slave to tell everything just as it happened without lying.
Paul said pointing at the girl who tried to sell her wares on the side of the street and was now sobbing as her things got destroyed.
The guard understood that Paul was not joking and the order from a master was absolute for any slave so the slave's testimony was a piece of unrefutable evidence.
The young man turned pale when he heard the conversation.
Trying to steal a slave was a capital crime and even his family would not be able to save him if the owner pressed charges not to mention if the slave testified under an order.
-What is going on here and who hurt my brother?
An angry female voice asked from behind Paul.
When he turned around he saw a group of young ladies rushing in their direction.
-Young Miss Mei.
The guard cooped his hands in greeting.
-This young man accused your brother of trying to steal his slave.
He said pointing at Paul.
-That's ridiculous, why would my brother want to steal a slave?
The woman asked with fury in her voice.
-Ridiculous or not that was what happened and I have the right to defend my property not to mention press charges.
Paul said coldly.
-There is no way he would do something like that.
If he wants a slave he can just buy one he doesn't have to steal one.
The young lady said angrily.
-Anna as your master I invoke the contract and order you to tell everyone here what happened without any lies.
Paul lost his patience and used the contract to prove what happened.
Anna's eyes became dim and under the power of contract she told everything in an emotionless voice.
Hearing this the young lady who was furious just a moment ago turned pale.
Hearing the account of a slave under an order was the same as seeing it all happen.
There was a sudden slap and the young man was sent flying by his sister until he hit a wall.
Young Lady Mei was furious again but this time the target of her fury was her brother.
-You idiot what the hell do you think you were doing?
She roared at him.
The young man looked at her in disbelief, this was the first time she had ever hit him.
Then she turned to Paul.
-I'm sorry for the trouble this idiot has caused, Can you please not press charges?
I know that it is your right but I don't want him to die just because of his stupidity, and idiot or not, he is still my brother and a second young master to the Mei family.
Please give us some face and drop this matter, I will make sure that he is punished accordingly.
She pleaded with Paul but also slightly threatened him.
-If you can guarantee that I won't see him again during my stay in this city and compensate the girl whose wares he destroyed then I can drop the charges.
Paul said.
He understood that if he was stubborn then the Mei family might make trouble for him.
Paul was not afraid of them but he saw no merit in making an enemy from a rich family and he also wanted to avoid trouble as much as he could.
-Thank you, and you do not have to worry about seeing him for a long time when I tell our parents what he has done.
The young lady sighed in relief.
If Paul pressed the charges then her brother would be executed and she didn't want that.
She quickly paid the girl whose wares were destroyed took her brother and left along with the other young ladies who were also scolding some of the young men as it seemed they also were siblings or cousins.
The guards also were happy that this matter was resolved amicably as it would be hell to deal with the Mei family if they had to take their second young master into custody.
When everyone left Paul turned to Anna.
- Care to explain why you stopped and dragged us into this mess?
He asked with a hint of anger in his voice.
-This girl is selling underwear that looks like it's from Earth and I wanted to get some for myself and sister Fei Fei.
Anna explained.
-Oh. Are you from Earth?
Paul asked the girl and she nodded in confirmation.
-Don't be scared we are also from Earth.
Paul said with a smile.
-Well it seems that all the underwear was destroyed by these idiots.
He said with a hint of regret as he would love to buy some for Anna and Fei Fei.
-My mother made them and sold them but she was beaten up badly and robbed so I tried to sell what we had left to earn money for a healer but this was not enough.
The girl said with tears in her eyes.
-Well you just got lucky young lady.
Paul said.
-I'm a healer and if your mother can make some underwear for these two ladies, I will be more than happy to heal her.
The girl was surprised at his words.
She never thought that the problems she had with these people would turn into a blessing in disguise.
-I'm sure that mother will agree but she is badly injured and both her hands are broken, can you heal that?
The girl asked.
-I will need to see her first to be sure but I don't think it will be a problem.
Paul said with a smile.
He was studying medicine along with alchemy so he could heal much more complicated injuries now instead of just using a healing spell that affected the whole body at once.
The girl quickly packed up and led them to her place which turned out to be just a small room in not so safe part of the city.
-Mom, I'm back.
The girl said the moment she opened the door.
