Chapter 16 - Chapter Sixteen

Ethan's smirk only grew wider as he stood there, amused by the situation. Joey stared at him as if he could kill him on the spot.

Madisyn rushed to the door to see what was happening, and when she saw Ethan, her mouth dropped open in shock. He was holding her favorite flowers: black and red roses.

He was the last person she expected to see. She couldn't believe the irony—that karma had made him ring the bell at this exact moment. Joey's face was red with fury, almost unrecognizable from his anger.

The vein in his neck throbbed, and it was clear it wouldn't be long before he lunged at Ethan. Madisyn couldn't understand what had driven him to this point. Was it just the sight of his brother being shirtless? Or had Ethan said something?

Knowing Ethan, she figured it was the latter. But what?

She swallowed hard, unsure of what to do or how to explain the situation to Joey. Did she even have to explain it?
