Now that she knew the result of the test, Madisyn only had one question left to answer: who was the father? There were only two possibilities, but neither felt particularly positive. Maybe the slightly better outcome would be for Ethan to be the father since reconnecting with Joey was the last thing she wanted. After what he did to her, Madisyn knew he wouldn't be a good influence on her child.
At least with Ethan, she knew he'd likely be a more responsible father. But at the same time, she knew he wasn't planning on becoming one. He hadn't even wanted a relationship, and Madisyn couldn't bear the idea of her life plans unraveling because of this.
Maybe this was karma, finally catching up with her, showing her why she shouldn't have played with fire.
