As the days passed, Madisyn kept to her plan of ignoring Ethan and staying as far from him as possible. She became adept at avoiding any chance encounters, and by the end of the week, she had gone four whole days without seeing him.
Did she miss him? A lot. But she knew this was the right thing to do.
Oddly, Nessa seemed to be acting more neutral toward her. While she didn't treat Madisyn warmly, at least she didn't bully her as she had before. It was a strange sort of relief.
On Friday evening, Madisyn finished work a bit early, so she said goodbye to Nessa and headed for the hall.
"Madi, before you leave, Ethan asked me to remind you to edit the file he sent over. It's a new article, the last one for Vogue."
"Oh…" Madisyn frowned, puzzled. Why hadn't he told her himself? Maybe he was trying to avoid her too, which might explain why they hadn't crossed paths all week.
"Alright, thank you, Nessa. See you on Monday."
"Yep, see you."
