Aiden and Ariel had finished eating and were currently sitting in the living room with Ariel resting on Aiden's side, his arms wrapped around her.

She took his other hand in her hands and kissed the back of it.

"I love you," She looked up at him, her eyes conveying her words.

She couldn't believe how a child could live knowing that his mother didn't love him, knowing that she could kill him anytime.

No domestic violence was acceptable, but she could say that she had it easy compared to Aiden, even though she faced hers way longer than he did.

At least she didn't get traumatized by her own mother; it was a stepmother, who she never even lived or saw as a mother figure, and a father, who she had long disowned in her heart.

Eva?

Eva wasn't a problem to her, she had no business with that spoilt airhead.

"I love you, too," Aiden replied, kissing her head.
