Hwan stepped forward and said, "Who are you, Lovely? Why do we appear to have met before?
Her eyes widened, and her face flashed with panic. She opened her lips to respond, but nothing came out. Instead, she spun around and hugged herself.
"It's complicated," she finally murmured, almost loudly. "I... I can't explain it right now."
Hwan's lips tightened. "Can't or won't?"
She turned back to him, her eyes glimmering with unshed tears. "Both. Please, don't ask why."
Hwan exhaled swiftly, confusion and irritation fighting inside him. "You know I'll figure it out eventually, right?"
Lovely's lips twisted into a sad smile. "I get it. But don't do it yet, please. Give me some time; once I figure out everything, I will give you an explanation."
Hwan wanted to push more, but her frail look held him back. He took a reluctant step back and nodded. "I'll wait for the moment. I promise." He departed with many questions.
