"I know," Mark interrupted. "I'll do whatever it takes to stop the waves, but don't expect me to stay longer than necessary. Prince Ahmad can have the throne if he sincerely desires it. I don't care."
The advisor nodded grudgingly. "As you wish, Your Highness. But be cautious. Prince Ahmad has no qualms about using deceit to retain his position. I'm worried he'll pursue retribution for his mother's murder."
"Then he could make his move; I am not responsible for his mother's tragic death. That is just between him and our father. My job here is to restore order to the kingdom, and once that task is completed, I aim to leave for good, leaving all of the chaos behind. I have no desire to be the king of this forsaking kingdom."
