Chapter 1 - Vamparrot

 Prologue

As the sun rises over a tropical forest, it showcases the lush landscapes of Papua New Guinea. The gentle narration of a nature documentary begins, accompanied by the sounds of the rainforest.

"Welcome, dear viewers, to the untamed beauty of Papua New Guinea!" the narrator exclaims as he welcomes the viewer to a new episode of his nature documentary. "Nestled in the southwestern Pacific, this land is a treasure trove of natural wonders, from untouched rainforests to unique wildlife and majestic mountain ranges."

The camera pans over the dense foliage with vibrant flowers blossoming from them. Exotic animals are minding their own business as we see an Echidna poking its snout in the forest floor to find insects and worms, Birds-of-Paradise trying to impress potential mates, and tree kangaroos gracefully jumping through the branches. The narrator's voice is filled with awe.

"The montane rainforests at the foot of Mount Hagen provide a habitat for some of the rarest and most extraordinary species on Earth," the narrator continues with a sense of wonder.

But amidst this breathtaking scenery, something unusual catches the narrator's attention.

The camera shifts to a mysterious structure in the heart of the rainforest, reminiscent of an East European castle.

"Wait, what is that?" The narrator wonders. "Amid the New Guinean rainforests, where nature reigns supreme, an unexpected sight emerges. An East European castle, seemingly out of place, raises questions about its origin and purpose."

The narrator's curiosity grows as the camera zooms in on the castle, revealing its intricate details.

"One can't help but wonder—why would such a structure find its way to this remote corner of the world?" the narrator questions as he examines the strange and foreign structure.

The focus shifts to a balcony, where a tall, pale figure dressed in black and red robes captures the narrator's attention.

"And look there! On one of the balconies." The narrator softly narrates in order not to spook the strange figure. "What could this person possibly be doing in this seemingly out-of-place castle?"

The camera focuses on the figure approaching a fig tree filled with black, red, and feathered birds with nearly bald heads—Pesquet's parrots.

"Ah, the Pesquet's parrots, also known as Vulturine parrots." The narrator carefully continues. "These majestic creatures, with their dark plumage, add another layer of intrigue to this enigmatic scene."

The narrator observes the figure interacting with the parrots, questioning why the birds seem unbothered.

"But wait, why doesn't this person spook the parrots?" the narrator wonders "A strange sense of calm seems to envelop them, as if they recognize this mysterious being."

The being turns towards the narrator as if acknowledging their presence, revealing a pale complexion but a warm and gentle expression on his face.

"Who is he?" The narrator whispers, trying not to be noticed by the well-dressed but pale man.

The camera captures his well-dressed, elegant demeanor.

"Fear not, dear narrator. I have no ill will toward you as long as you respect these parrots and their sacred habitat," the man responds to his guest.

"Wh-who are you?" the narrator stammered, startled by the fact that he was facing a real-life vampire.

The man smiled, his demeanor calm and inviting, giving a glimpse of his formidable fangs.

"My name is Varujan Orlok." The man answered politely. "But unlike what my appearance may seem, I mean no harm.

As Varujan speaks, the screen transitions to scenes of him interacting with the rainforest, showcasing his unique relationship with nature.

"I am not here to haunt the night but to protect these lands." Varujan continues. "I am a vampire, yes, but my story is one of harmony and balance."

Varujan turns towards the camera, addressing both the narrator and the viewers.

"Stay, dear friends. Listen to my story, for it is a tale that intertwines the worlds of humans and creatures of the night." Varujan said in a welcoming tone. "Let the mysteries of Papua New Guinea unfold before you."

The screen fades to black, leaving the audience intrigued and captivated by the promise of Varujan's unique narrative.
