Chapter 24 - Rage Mode?

[Rage Mode level 1 activated]

[All skills have temporarily been boosted by 1 level.]

[All stats have been boosted by 10%]

[You cannot die while in Rage Mode.]

[All stats have been reset.]

[You can now use every talent you have copied in the past 168 hours.]

[Mana points have temporarily become infinite.]

[Time duration: 5 minutes.]

Kenji's mind was working at 110% efficiency, he could see the time duration left for the skill to expire and he wasn't stupid enough to start asking questions.

[Mana Fist activated.]

This time, instead of just blue energy surrounding the sword, red and different shades of blue energy had also surrounded the sword.

Kenji had the fire and ice talent from the Americans he had copied from previously along with the lightning talent from Zach, and the superspeed and chronokinesis talent from his new team.

The first crashed into one of the zombies, leaving a large gap in the zombie's torso, the zombie's chest to waist was missing.

The surrounding temperature quickly shot up to that of boiling water, making the blood of the zombie's begin to boil.

"Let's end this." Kenji said with a renewed vigor, causing every zombie around him to tremble.

While all this was happening, Quickie and the remaining members of the group were peacefully gnawing away at their food.

After they left that restaurant, they had managed to find a small food joint that had barely enough food for them.

"Alright, 20 minutes are up, let's go back for Kenji." Quickie said with a bright smile on his face, another benefit of his versatile talent was the speed at which his mana points and energy recovered.

Quickie analyzed the faces of his newly acquired allies, and the loud relectance was enough to break the ever present smile on his face.

"What's wrong guys?" Quickie asked, Kenji had risked his life to save them all and now that the time limit he set had elapsed, there was no reason why the shouldn't save him.

"Look." Kim Momoto, a black haired boy with slightly hazel eyes said, they had all made this decision behind Quickie's back and now they were struggling to break it to him.

"We know you're all excited and everything, but we can't go back there, Kenji is most likely dead, he sacrificed his life for us and I think it's best to Honour his death by staying here." Kim said, and the other members of the group turned their heads to faced the floor.

"Bullshit, Kenji wouldn't be stupid enough to tell us to come back if he wasn't confident about killing the zombies there and even if he is dead, we should at least retrieve what is left of him and bury it, we owe him our lives." Quickie said but the adaamance in the reluctance of his teammates spoke volumes.

"Easy for you to say, you can just zip in there and zip out, we saw you heal from a critical injury before our own eyes, you can't expect us to fight like you." Kim said, he had been given an acid talent and he wast still a level 1 among all things.

"You are all cowards, if no one is going to Save Kenji, I'll do it alone." Quickie said, he grabbed the kitchen daggers he managed to steal from the restaurant and placed them in his pockets.

He knew the importance of a weapon in this world and how much of a difference it made between life and death, he couldn't get a cool sword like Kenji and had decided to just take something that was light, easy to use and suited his talent.

While Quickie debated on the best course of action internally, Kenji on the other hand was beginning to notice an unforseen difficulty.

Hundreds of zombies had surrounded him and each of them were relentlessly attacking him, it didn't matter if he hit them all with a lightning bolt, burnt their skin or froze them completely, they always came back to life.

"I need to find that stupid Nest King." Kenji thought, sure his HP didn't drop whenever he was hit but he still felt the pain.

In fact, he felt the pain more intensely than in this situation, it was like his pain receptors had been kicked into overdrive along with the rest of his stats.

The pain wasn't the only problem, he could slowly feel his consciousness fading away and the precision of his attacks were beginning to falter.

Kenji was not only battling with the zombies, he was also battling with sleep, no matter how he tried, he could feel tiredness washing over him.

[3 minutes left.]

Kenji continued to search for the zombie king but all his efforts were in vain, even his danger sense had become severely unreliable.

With the ammount of zombies surrounding Kenji, his danger sense was warning him of danger coming from all sides and it was begging to overwhelm him.

It was a feeling similar to when a person was forced to stare at the sun, something that could vaguely be described as bordering sensory overload.

'I need to find that bastard before he levels up again.'Kenji thought, his mind began searching for a solution and then it finally clicked.

A solution that presented itself as a dangerous gamble but that was his only solution.

Kenji used the chronokinesis talent to slow down everything around him severely, coupled with the effects of superspeed, he had finally come up with an unreliable plan.

To the best of his knowledge, Zombies ate humans and he was sure they didn't eat humans for no reason, there had to be something the humans gave to them.

With this logic, Kenji had drawn the conclusion that the Nest King had retired to consume more humans.

This thought process was what led to the crazy plan Kenji came up with, instead of using his danger sense to find zombie's, he used it to find humans .

"Got you." Kenji said and in a child's breath, he appeared before the Nest King who had hundreds of corpses and living humans lying around.
